Welcome Claireloo and amazing to have the scan isn't it! I know what you mean about having to remind yourself you are pregnant too... it's strange and seems I only believe it when I am at the hospital... or looking at Sweetpea's scan pic!
At work maybe leave the lady be for now, don't forget it's not you that is upsetting her, it's the loss of her own baby - I am sure that she is just feeling down herself and bears no ill feeling towards you personally. Enjoy the relief of having told work and the attention your colleagues pile on you!

Anderson that's good news on the bump appearance and also on the shopping - I am jealous and want to have a shopping day maybe this weekend! We have no outlet stores here in Brighton that I know of for baby stuff, but I'm still learning, so there might be!

My exciting development is that yesterday I walked past a house that had 3 prams they were giving away outside!!! Each one had a sign saying free but needs a clean, so I promptly mentioned it to hubby when I got home and we now have a Mamas and Papas 'Beat' buggy which saves £70. We have removed all the removeable bits as there are some light moulded dusty areas and I am wondering if it can go in washing machine, or just to spray wipe, so have e-mailed Mamas and Papas to see what they recommend. It means we now have more cash to spend on things like essentials - car seat, nappies, wipes, clothes etc as the cot, daybed and bugy are now sorted for free. Feeling very good!

Is everyone getting a moses basket?

Apricot glad you slept better - I find it hard as a) our cat sleeps at the bottom of the bed gets the hump if we move too much and b) hubby alarm clock goes off early a million times as he keeps snoozing, so between those and the getting up for the loo, haven't quite felt well rested yet! Once bump appears more, i will need to learn to sleep on my side which I dread...

the scan is great isn't it, I found myself questioning whether I was actually pregnant before it but to see that little bundle on screen is truely amazing :) although I was a little gutted as I only got a couple of peeks, while OH got to sit there and watch the screen the whole time, twice as well seen as we were scanned again for second opinion. I can't wait to see baby again on Monday when I go for amnio, should get results within 3 weeks Apricot, hopefully sooner :)

Hi Anderson, we may yet have to get something else, I still don't know the difference between a pram, buggy and pushchair...
Am assuming a pram is the most lightweight, then pushchair, then buggy, or is the pushchair and buggy the same thing? And what about a stroller??

    Oh what a learning curve...
If you knew you were having a boy, Argos have the Zia for a good price at £93.73:
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3987216.htm?_$ja=tsid:11527%7Ccc:%7Cprd:3987216%7Ccat:nursery+%2F+pushchairs%2C+prams+and+carriers+%2F+pushchairs+%2F

Turns out we would have paid the least with them too, £65 I think via Argos, so even if we buy a replacement hood for £14 on ebay we'll still be quids in.

Cleo very true re the scan, I found it hard to twist hear round to see, next time will ask for them to turn it properly. At one point baby moved and turned to face us and they said 'oh look junior is looking right at daddy' it was so sweet. I guess the dads don't get to feel as involved overall so I was glad the guy said that to him. He spent the day clutching the scan pic and showing everyone at work, was so nice...

Cleomolly- hope everythings goes ok for you.

Sparkle- i think a pram is the biggest thing then a buggy/stroller is the light and compact one. i really like the blue petit star, i think i would like it even if i was having a girl!

also at my scan my husband and i had a screen just for us to look at, the sonographer had her own screen to look at

Anderson my sister has the Zia (in rasberry) it's lovely to push but you can't put any shopping on the handles, I only took baby to the corner shop and with one bag of milk and bread and one with pop in pram nearly tipped over. It folds really small though and is very light to pick up and put in the boot.

sparkle my cats sleep in the bed too (one by my feet and one curls up to my chest) however, I threw them both out at about 2am when they were chasing each other and jumping on my head - thinking about it that's probably why I ended up having such a nice sleep!

I didn't quite believe that I was pregnant and I saw the baby on the screen - I honestly thought I was having a phantom pregnancy lol! I managed to find bubs heartbeat with the doppler last week which was amazing - it sounded like a galloping horse according to me and OH which means a girl IIRC?

I've got a bump (sort of) I was very proud until my cousin told me it looked like flab so I want it to be bigger now!

Brighton? - you are near me Sparkle x :)
I don't know of any outlet stores around the Brighton area either - I've previously brought a lot of baby clothes at the outlet Gap at Gunwharf Quays (Portsmouth) though - can't think of any where else in the South East

I've been taking the Tescos own brand Mother to be vitamins since the start.
They are quite reasonably priced around 4 pounds and are on 3 for 2 ;)
