No grumbles particularly on them but we were in a rush so had no option really. Think i was pitching it too high but still wondered why no one came around when we had about 6-7 viewings in 2 weeks with local EA's?

Would use again but only cause it £200.

Your agents would have had customers waiting to view hence the 6-7 in the first 2 weeks.

HN is a bit of a gamble but if it works your a winner.

I've been live since Monday and have had 2 viewings booked. One cancelled though (like they do). Main and room hits going well too. Fingers crossed.

    I have a question.

Who would hold the keys for the new buyer of my home bearing in mind the agent is based in Romford and I may use an online conveyencer?

    Many thanks

Tonydee: Our neighbours (good friends) held the keys and released them to the purchaser for our first sale with Housenetwork...for the second we did the handover ourselves.

Having posted yesterday re ourpropertymove, and seeing recommendations for housenetwork, I took a long look at them.
Aren't they just an online EA? Sure their fees are a bit(!) lower than the High St version, but I still have to ask the basic question... what can they do that you, as owner/seller cannot? For Free!

Get you listed on Rightmove and 100's of other property portals. The freebies tend to have less of a Search Engine presence and none of them are allowed on Rightmove as they must be bonafide agents adhering to the properties midescriptions act.

Typos are a fair point, but you get a chance to proof your site and these will all be corrected very quickly before you go live (usually within 48hours of the visit). By all means DIY and save money if you have the time, but if you want maximum web exposure then surely going with a good online agent is a huge kick start for relatively low cash?

    Majik,

Did you sell, your "property as been made invisible" when I go to look.

I think I'm actually going to take the plunge with HN and was interested to see a 'real' house!

I'm ignoring your story because you sold for less than I told you to!

We had ours on with Housenetwork for three months and not a single viewing! The price was right as others were coming on to the market at way more than ours and we had two bathrooms whereas the others had one. The others are still for sale.

Our local estate agent, even though we weren't listed with them, knew we were trying to sell and they got us a viewing with someone who did want it. In the end though, the interested buyer changed their minds altogether and decided not to sell and move at all. We've taken it off HN and given it to our local agent to sell, as we really appreciated their efforts to find a buyer for us. If it doesn't sell soon however, we will rent it out for a couple of years and try again then.

I firmly believe that HN only works for those areas that are unaffected by the change in the market, where sales are still buoyant. Ours is a flat, but flats are just not selling at all in our area. In fact, they have dropped in value
considerably. The area is supposed to be a very desirable area to live but everybody wants a house here and not a flat and even houses are taking a long while before they sell.

I would use HN again, but only if it was a sellers market as then it would sell itself anyway!;)
