Tax credit renewal - general questions (merged)

Hi quick question, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I`ve just recieved my p60 today was wondering if the total pay & total tax should be added together to get my total income? Also what is this i`m reading about money paid into pension not being included in your income? Thanx

I renewed 5th May but provisional dated 9th May after I advised change they have changed my childcare already for this year. So they have the right info or they couldn't
work out this years...

No just use total pay.

Pension payments can be deducted BUT if you make pension payments via your pay then the pension contributions will (in the vast majority of cases) already have been deducted in the P60 amount, so just declare the P60.

If you made personal pension contributions eg stakeholder pension you can deduct them, google TC825 for the form and read carefully, particularly the bit about using gross contributions.

I just call Helpline as still waiting for final award notice. Lady spoke to advised
renewal had not yet been processed. Even through i got provisional with the changes.
Which there was an error on my salary which i have promptly got sorted out.
She advised that i will not get another notice.. so please check all details...

What do you mean by not getting another notice, is this the provisional or the final award?

I am in the same position as you so would like to know.

Just realised I've been paid April/May tax credits. I thought they'd lowered the threshold which meant we wouldn't be eligible.
Tried to ring up, but after many options, it said unable to take call & went dead.
Surely if we're not elgible due to threshold lowering, they can figure that out without me having to tell them?
Anyone else in same position?

I checked my provisional notice it had wrong earnings for this yesr. Called and the person told info said renewal not yet processed. I questioned that the paperwork I had shows wrong information and would i get another. She said no.. And that last years wont to affected. This years will go down which I would expect.. So I assume that I will get some sort of adjustment as I have declared my renewal.

Still none the wiser but at least I have given them the right information. Hope thst helps. ..

I've still not heard anything yet, Not had any different or extra payments and still no paperwork. Is it 2 weeks after the renewal I can ring and query stuff?

Shellsuit- i just received my renewal friday 13th may. Last year it was april when i got it. Try not to worry to much i'm sure it will be here soon
