Wonder if anyone can help me, durig last year my partner had a few income changes , rang TCO up and informed them , my award said that based on him earning 18k we would have a potential payment due once the award was finalised of 1900 , i understand why the potential payments are put in place etc. I phoned up and renewed 11/5/11 and advised of income which was actually 19000 , i understand that would not have been entitled to all of 1900 potential payment. Yesterday I recieved a payemtn into my bank of 189 the payment was on bank statement as work and tax credit ...it only normally says child tax credit.......could i get another payement.....to do with my potential payment .....or does this seem to be waht I am due, i have used the tax credit calc trying to work out the difference between me earning 18k and 19k and the payemtns over the year are only 400 different.....argh any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes over a whole year £1000 income difference would result in about a £400 TC difference.

But as well as the potential payment, which reflects what you should have got before you told them (if your estimate had been right), you will have got actual higher payments based on the estimate, after you told them. So as well as reducing your potential payment, they will take the higher actual payments you got out of it.

That sounds wrong. :S our earnings went down from £1800 to £8900, and our tax credits went up by £13 a week :/
Maybe you've lost the 30 hours bonus.
Have you had a gander at entitledto?
On an income of £8900 a year, plus tax credits (1 child) my husband and I are entitled to £15 HB and £5 CTB a week. You may get this too xxx

Just realised I've been paid April/May tax credits. I thought they'd lowered the threshold which meant we wouldn't be eligible.
Tried to ring up, but after many options, it said unable to take call & went dead.
Surely if we're not elgible due to threshold lowering, they can figure that out without me having to tell them?
    Anyone else in same position?

I am in exactly the same position and just got another payment today. I had thought that they would just stop too. Don't know what we are meant to do - there must be a lot of people in this situation.

After quite a few attempts to get through, I've decided to sit tight & wait for the renewal pack.
Going to put money to one side, so it's not a problem to repay.
    So frustrating
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

  • I've still not heard anything after I renewed on the 4th May, So I rang the helpline to see if there was any news and they said it had been received but hadn't been processed yet and to ring back on the 15th June if we still hadn't heard anything.
