we didn't get our walk this afternoon - was tipping down here then when it cleared up DH went to bed with a headache - he's better now so we're going for a quick walk up the field with the dogs before bed.

watching a tv programme about dystonia - makes me feel very lucky. It really does seem to be a horrendous condition to have to live with.

Sorry to hear things are still bad with your DD. I hope that she wakes up to what her OH really is soon.
Also sorry that you have not seen your DGD. I always think that its very sad that the kids suffer when others fall out. What ever is going on between you and your DD has nothing to do with you and your DGD and your DGD has a right to see her grandma.

A bloke that i use to work with had loads of trouble with his DD when she was growing up. The teens were hard going for them. Now his DD has a DD of her own who is 12 this year. She is now going though what she put her mom and dad though but not as bad (YET) She has said sorry to her mom and dad now she knows how bad it feels to be on the other end.:)

Anyway i hope things turn out to be the wya they should be soon.

    All the best.:j:j

    Me neither, Molly!

Ok well I have finished the dreaded DLA form. It took us a week and I lost count of the hours but I guess about 12 hours over the course of the week. I had such a lot to update them with. Send it off and forget about it for a few weeks.

    xx

Molly, I work full time mostly from home as an adult education tutor and have been in receipt of Higher Rate Mobility DLA for the last year. There's some good advice on the net, hope you were able to use it.
Not sure if the claim was for you or for a child of yours, but were you able to keep a record of what you wrote? I filled in an electronic version of mine and printed it out to send it.

I had the ATOS doc come to interview me before the panel gave its decision and being able to refer to my original claim was so helpful.
I also made extensive reference to a slips, trips and falls diary I'd kept (in Word, then printed out). This was really helpful and I'm sure it helped swing the decision my way.

Anyone else going through this - I received tremendous help from the BBC's Ouch! messageboards and I do recommend them.
Of course, we've all got to go through it again in 2013 as DLA s being reviewed then, but for now, it is so useful - no VAT, free bus pass, entitlement to working tax credits, free prescriptions, free central heating system next April :D
