OS Daily Sunday 16th Jan

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 16th Jan. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
What a silly time to be up on a Sunday morning, oh well.
DW unloaded, clean clothes folded, I shan't feed the fish yet, it will only confuse them.
I've defrosted some roast beef slices for dinner today, I'll do roast potatoes & veg & yorkies with them.
Hubby will be watching the snooker this afternoon, he's a bit of a fan.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning me too. Woke up and am wide awake.

I have work at 7am, so I shall just drink coffee and potter about until then...

Roast pork for supper. One of the many joints of many I bought for Christmas, but never ate. Aunt Bessies roast potatoes. Bit of a cheat, but i had several bags cheap for emergencies and need to clear the freezer.

Morning from me too - been awake since before 6.00a.m. listening to Radio 5 Live which then went dead for 10 minutes. It took me a few minutes to realise that it wasn't my radio that had broken! Then they began to broadcast an interview with Robbie Coltrane and, just as that got interesting, they came back. So the morning was confused from the start.

Got my coffee and eggy breakfast and still in jimjams. Will get dressed later. I have to go out 1) to collect some stuff from friends and 2) to test the CDs I've made for the car as I bought a new programme and I don't think it's correct.

    Hope everyone is well.

    Morning everyone.

Tired this morning. Didn't sleep great and had a late night. H and I went to watch Harry Potter and then to La Tasca for a bite to eat. Ate too much and totally NOT MSE but well worth it :D
Plan for today is for H to tackle the mountain of ironing, entertain the kids and if I can squeeze in some dusting etc whilst I am at it that will be great.
Tea will either be chicken or roast beef with veggies and roasties.
Sorry doesn't seem to be much OS going on at the moment. Went to Lakeland yesterday as their Home baking tins are 3 for 2. So I bought some 2lb load tins and a cooling rack and I picked up an icing set :D
Good job I'd banked a few NSD this month to offset my mini spending spree yesterday :o

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.

    Good Morning All

Having a peaceful cup of tea before I wake up the kids. DS has boxing this morning & DD wants to come as we have to hang around Chelmsford for a couple of hours. Will be checking out the new Chelmsford Market today. Think there is only a few stalls at the moment but one is a fruit and veg one. Hope it does well, I do like a good market.

We are out for lunch so no cooking for me today :j. However when we are back home I will be spending some time in my office as it has got messy over the last couple of days. Did clear the ironing pile yesterday :T

Nothing else to report, will pop back later.x

I agree what a stupid early time to be awake on a Sunday morning!

Damp underfoot but at last it has stopped raining.

Both boys have rugby matches today, DS1 away and DS2 at home, so quite an early start to our Sunday! Will be cooking roast this afternoon instead of lunchtime. Last night iced the cupcakes ready for pack-ups this week, may do some more cooking later today if I get chance. Fell asleep on the sofa again last night and then went to bed, need to get into routine of going to bed before I fall asleep downstairs!

DS1 still asleep but DS2 just got up, so he's drinking first cuppa of the day with DH watching tv. Will be going for a shower shortly, brekkie etc, lunch will be bread/crackers, ham, cheese, pickled onions, fruit, yogurt, help yourself and roast later.

DH still on early turns - so will collect his van later, back to work for me tomorrow too, really hoping that these days off have really seen the back of this bug, feel much better but still have horrible chesty cough.

Need to get a wiggle on otherwise I'll be running around at last minute - again!

Have an enjoyable and restful Sunday everyone.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning All,

Out in Yorkshire today visiting mum and dad. Have a Victoria Sponge to take with us but hoping for a bit of a rest today as I spent the whole day yesterday cooking and cleaning.

I made a butternut squash and spicy tomato soup yesterday that was absolutely gorgeous and O WW points so that will be my lunches this wk:D

DH husband will have to sing for his supper as usual. My DB who lives near to mum and dad has a light fitting he needs sorting while we are there. It's funny how whenever we get invited anywhere for lunch or dinner people have little jobs for him to do:cool: I suppose I am lucky having a fella who's an electrician and can turn his hand to anything in the house. Handy and gorgeous as well I am not complaining:rotfl:

Anway off to do my roots with DH's help as I can't get round the back. I told you he can turn his hand to anything:T

Will be out most of the day so will check in later. Hugs J x

    Morning all

A bit wet and blowy overnight here but still fairly mild. I have two reports to do from my MS adventures yesterday which I will do after another coffee. I do not have to leave the house today unless I choose to which is a fantastic feeling and may just spend the day in my comfies :D

Lunch will be wraps or maybe some leek and potatoe stuff if I can be bothered to make it and dinner this evening will be chicken fillets in breadcrumbs, new potatoes, runner beans and sweetcorn. I cooked 10 chicken breast last night that I got in a back from the butchers - I will turn it into low fat dinner for me which can be frozen in portions, also got some korma paste yesterday so might have a bash at a chicken korma. Will also make a chicken salad pitta for lunch tomorrow.

Need to make some more yoghurt as I've took a liking for granola with greek yoghurt on top - I've been taking some for lunch as it satisfies my want for something sweet. I don't think i'll do any baking as my will power isn't too good - I could make some fairy cakes for the kids as I wouldn't eat them anyway.

DW is on, washer next then reports!!

    Have a good day x
