Well, from now on I'll be using as much of my 3gb limit as I can each month for the next year.
That'll teach them! Been running at 2g speed all day whenever using data, yet work mobile on tmob running at H. Do clearly they'll throttle instead to shaft us as nothing says speed levels they must supply at0 -

"T-Mobile clarifies mobile phone data cap"
They havent "clarified" anything at all, the have backed down because they have no alternative.
" and we apologise for any confusion caused"
There was no confusion well outside of your offices at least.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
I must admit when the reduction was first announced I thought I could work within 500MB. However I installed 3g watchdog last night and am amazed at how much data my Wildfire guzzles even without browsing and checking e-mails. I have used 10MB in 24 hours (with no downloading or video streaming) which over 1 month would be over 2/3 of the allowance just for the phone synchronising with google and very occasional web browsing. Goodness knows what a software update would guzzle, not forgetting those people with the higher end phones who will watch videos and use the internet alot more.
My contract is only £10/month on a very attractive retention deal so moving would have cost me more and in some respects I would be cutting my nose off to spite my face. However T Mobile aren't the company I signed up to 4 years ago, the 150 customer service line is a mixture of automated hell and overseas staff.
Next year when my contract is up, I will take stock and see what is available but in the meantime thanks for all who had the courage of their convictions to fight this and go through with cancelling your contracts. Without that, there would not have been this change of heart by the company.Hark at you going all strict0 -

There was no confusion as you quite rightly point out. Their original statement was perfectly clear that it would apply to existing customers:Yesterday we began notifying our contract customers of changes to their Fair Usage Policies (FUPs) relating to data usage on mobile phones. In line with the industry, T-Mobile will be reducing its FUP for data downloading to 500MB/month from 1st February 2011.
These restrictions will affect both new and existing customers, and will ensure an improved quality of service for all of our mobile internet users. As the average mobile internet customer uses only 200MB of data each month, this will only affect a small minority of users, whom we have begun notifying.
T-Mobile will not charge its customers additional rates for exceeding these data limits, and those who do will still be able to access important services such as email and website browsing, but will have file downloading restricted. Customers who have a need for higher volumes of data will be encouraged to take up a separate mobile broadband plan. We are confident that these changes will result in a better experience for all of our customers who use internet on their phone.0 -
Clarify = Which and other media were kicking up a fuss and our lawyers said we couldn't make this fly and we'd have thousands of customers who could walk from their contracts.0

Been busy turning everything on that consumes.data, and will leave YouTube app running and playibg any old rubbish to make full use of the 3gb fup.
Was on 253mb this month with 14 days left. 3g watchdog now.says I've used that amount today alone!0 -

I'm so pleased i emailed T-Mobile a copy of my cancellation letter which was posted this morning an hour or so before the announcement and I know they got this as i received an auto response.
As I get the feeling they will be trying something else very soon like withdrawing HSPDA from those with 3GB.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
