T-Mobile may also want to tell their customer services. I just got off the phone 10 mionutes ago with a CS manager who said this is still coming into effect but now from 1st March!

If you read the statement, it's pretty cut and dried so no need to worry.

    It says....

There will be no change to the data packages for existing customers for the duration of their contract and we apologise for any confusion caused.

    I've screen grabbed that too.

Would it be wise for all those who actually received a written notifying of FUP reduction to seek a personal written retraction and a written re-statement of their plans' inclusions?

    No harm in asking

I'm phoning them right now to try and get confirmation of this. Will be requesting it in writing too. Girl I'm speaking to mustn't have been informed yet, she's still saying it'll affect all customers (current and new).

EDIT - Confirmed with her, no change for existing customers. She's sending a text message to me with this info also. :)
  • According to this http://www.littlefluffytoys.com/?p=309 those who have terminated their contracts before tmobile's new statements are still within their rights to do so.

I wonder if it has to be via recorded letter? I have sent tmobile a total of 3 emails - one of which in response to a generic response - so far requesting a cancellation and my PAC.

Only 3. I have sent them about 12. T-Mobile recognise text and email as written notification so I don't see why an email termination is any different

I've already sent them a letter terminating my contract siting breach of T&C's etc. I've also cancelled my direct debit to them.

I'm so annoyed with how they have treated their customers, I don't particularly want to be a customer of theirs anymore.

I'm sure I read on this or another forum on monday that even if T-Mobile capitulate, customers could still cancel their contract, if they did it within 14 days of receiving the initial text message from T-Mobile

Does anyone know what the legal standpoint is?
  • Hm, I guess requesting cancellation via the Code of Practice route means they'll just ignore my letter now. They also only gave me notice by phone, although they explicitly said they were doing so as of that call. Bah. Not unhappy with the contract pricing but would rather be paying a similar amount to a less scummy outfit now. :)

I'm sure I'll get flamed by lots of you for this reply but its my opinion whether you agree or not :)

Of course, but I think you've spectacularly missed the point that had no one made a fuss, the changes would have been forced through.
