"Either way a lot of you look red faced after all this agro over it and it turns out they were going to keep it as it is for exsisting users."

They may not have been though without some concerted pressure from disgruntled customers.

Clearly you can see them, because if you've ignored a poster, you can only quote their post by clicking on a 'view' link.

Not true: I'm Android with 3GB (less than half way through contract) and I got the text saying I was going to be affected.

.... If most of you had just waited for them to release a statement before stressing about it you wouldn't look like idiots. :)

If you got the text saying you'd be affected (as I did - 3GB Android) then there is no shame in being stressed !

  • Either way a lot of you look red faced after all this agro over it and it turns out they were going to keep it as it is for exsisting users.

I'm sure I'll get flamed by lots of you for this reply but its my opinion whether you agree or not :)

They backtracked in the face of many, many people complaining and threating (some using) their right to cancel.
  • What makes me laugh is all of a sudden soo many of you had back tracked soo quickly after this statement was issued.

Infairness I personally said wait until they release a statement about the smartphone FUP before kicking up a fuss. If most of you had just waited for them to release a statement before stressing about it you wouldn't look like idiots. However come the end of your contracts like me you'll be wondering if its worth changing as all the other networks (bar 3 but personally i would never EVER rejoin them again) if T-Mobile offer more minutes for lower prices as everyone has roughly the same FUP on internet now. Plus T-Mobiles bonus of never paying more is actually a good bonus. I think I'll continue with o2 for normal phone and T-Mobile for my Smart phone as I like no run on rates regardless of the FUP ;)

Thou I wouldn't be supprised if Rententions aren't given a tool to allow people a higher FUP (or even keep their current 1GB or 3GB) to stop you from going else to another network at the end of your commitment.

You must be gullible to think they were going to do this in the first place. They really strongly told everyone they had no right but to accept and now after which and other consumer groups and ofcom and the customers raising merry hell they have backed now. Had we all waited they would not!!
  • If we have still requested our PAC and early exit what happens there?
  • T-Mobile had previously said that it would affect everyone (e.g. on Twitter, where they clearly said "it affects everyone"), so there was no reason to believe before that it would have been different for existing customers or users with smartphone plans.

Glad to see they backtracked on this, no doubt because they had no defense against Ofcom 9.3. I wonder if letters of cancellation will be honoured - their claim now seems to be that they never intended to change the FUP for existing customers, and that they "apologise for any confusion caused". (Not that I attempted to cancel, myself... I have no problem with my price plan provided I get what I agreed to on renewal, when they confirmed I would get inclusive web'n'walk Plus with a 3GB limit).

I meant that they (T mobile) were going to change the T&C and were only persuaded against it by customers.
