Sister is stirring it up, if you want an eternity ring from your OH then ask for one for your anniversary. Many men don't 'do' jewellery, especially eternity rings!

You should never ask for jewellery, its given as a gift. Maybe I am old fashioned.
  • A friend of ours was previously complaining that her husband hadn't bought her an eternity ring. Someone mentioned it to him and so he went out and bought one for their anniversary. As it turned out, he spent quite a lot of money on it and so we then had the wife complaining that he had spent too much on the ring and asking what he was thinking when he paid so much.

Sometimes I think it's difficult for a guy to know what to do for the best.

Eternity ring I thought that's what wedding rings where for

Can you and the OH afford to be buying jewellery.

I'm not the best person to ask though as I'm not very romantic.

I would worry more about your stirring sister than any lack of an eternity ring if I were you.
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

This is were the jewellery trade were losing out in the wedding ring trade so thought up this chestnut, same as Valentines and any other day that means you have to prove your love, just wake up in the morning look at your partner and tell them you love them, you do not need a £2000 ring to do that just do it with sincerity and drop the drunken grunt and brush your teeth .........
  • It's nice to feel appreciated and it's nice to be woo'd by gifts such as jewellery by your partner on the odd occassion.

There are some relationships based on materialistic things and not love. I understand that you feel that after all the years you've spent with your husband that you'd like to still feel special. But the main thing is that you're happy and that he loves you.

If anything, you should be spending quality time together rather than any of the latter. That's what counts. If you want to rekindle the relationship speak to your man about him cooking a nice dinner for the two of you for a change, it doesn't need to be expensive.

Ignore your sister - she is just putting daft ideas in your head. They weren't there before she allowed them to be, were they?

OMG your married and already have a ring....how much more eternal does it get than that, you dont need an additional ring!
  • What a lovely sister! Firstly, you don't need on, you are married and have a wedding ring, you pledged to be together til 'death do you part' which is eternity so don't worry. Secondly, do you really want one, just because they have one? Get over it. I actually find it odd that they have one for 3yrs marriage anyway.

  • Do you have spare cash for such an extravegant purchase? My husband would like to buy me one, but the ones I like are quite expensive and I have said I would rather not spend that much right now. I have my wedding ring and two kids, and nothing signifies eternity like marriage and kids!
