I'm back online, phew.
It didn't seem to work the first time I put my new login details in. But I tried again after rebooting the router, and much to my surprise and delight the bbc homepage returned!
It's not as quick as it was before, hopefully it'll improve.
Good luck to those still trying...0 -

Also just logged in to see my account details @ www.fast4.net/members, bit worrying that it states that I'm on a 2Gb per month plan and will have to pay for any additional bandwidth. It also says I'm on the Max Home Lite plan which costs £9.98?
I'm relieved to be back online, but after being treated so badly, if it turns out we're not getting the same deal as before then I'm going to look into moving ISP's and getting out of tyhis finance deal. If they want the pc, they can come and get it.0 -
When I look at the order progress under my account details, it says:
'The Asset has already been ceased'
under notes.
Anyone else got this and what does it mean?Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

The Good: Never had a problem with RedTen since I joined up November 2006. Like others, been without since last Monday. Had my letter on Saturday, came home after work today, changed router info as per letter, re-booted and hey presto! - I'm back on line. Not as fast as before (but doesn't any new connection take time to settle?).
The Bad: I don't think its as straightforward as some people make out (re cancelling payments to Clode). I'm not going to go into the details (hell! - I got surfing to catch up on!) but it looks like a finance deal signed off trade premises - which may mean they are NOT jointly liable for any failings by Redten. So, if Redten went bust - tough....we still owe Clode. Plus, just cos broadband goes down for a week (and communication was abysmal), that's not necessarily such a significant breach of contract that it would allow anyone to cancel it (it's what may be considered to be "reasonable" - and that's "reasonable" as in a County Court Judge/Registrar's view...not ours.
I have my own reservations about the info I can see when I access my new account (paying extra for more than 2GB, being on a £9.98 charge) but until it actually happens, it doesn't constitute a change. I just think that, whatever we may think about how this has been handled, we need to "count to 10" before storming off and burning some bridges. Of course....I could have lost the plot! (again)
The Ugly: The fall-out if Clode pick off individuals and take em to court for not paying. What's legal and what's ethical aint always same thing.
Right...back to my new broadband experience!0 -
