Im confused why people belive a wholesaler should tell people they may lose service. BT Wholesale couldnt have told people that they may lose Redten service without breaking DPA surely?
Totally agree drunkstar, especially when readten and njp have apparently been planning this over the last several months? If that was the case surely we would would have had hardly any disruption at all.
I left without hesitation on the tuesday and am now with my new supplier as of this morning (as others have said - its life critical this broadband stuff) so I will have to hope that redten and njp come unstuck with what they have done and I will be able to cancel clode!0 -

Hi,
We lost our Redten connection last week too (now using this dial up thing - how 80's). Have a look at your finance agreement from Clode. You may be able to make a claim for compensation against either Redten or Clode Finance for the loss of your internet and any expenses incurred due to the problems with Redten.
I would suggest not cancelling your Direct Debit with Clode, as it is a credit agreement and you might be blacklisted for future credit applications.
Try for a claim against both companies, or, offer a full and final payment to Clode retail for the payment of the computer making sure that your credit account is marked as satisfied if you take this action.
We opted for Sky with our MAC code

Two of my friends have received the letter from NJP on Friday, both cannot get online today.
I haven't received a letter, neither has another friend and both of us have signed up for Sky and we have been given Thursday 20th as an activation date.
I have sent a letter to Clode stating what a mess this has been & my intention to stop paying them (I haven't cancelled by DD yet) for the lack of information, including the Telecoms Act etc. & various other snippets from the RT website, the original finance agreement etc.
Will let post the response on here if I hear anything0 -
thanks for all the info--newbe poster. Have now got redten internet access and 400plus emails!!! Hope this is the last of the previous trauma--follows loads of phone calls, emails and threats of breach of contract over the last week. Hopefully everyone here will be back on soon.0

I took my MAC and went to sky when it all happened on the Monday (just as BT said i should
).I tried to contact redten and spoke to Scott who said he would see what he could do to get me back with Redten asap as he fully understood my actions and would have done the same in the circumstances.A day and a half has passed since i spoke to him and he never called back as promised surprise surprise,so im gonna wait and see what happens i should be back online with Sky by tomorrow but i wont cancel the DD with Clode just yet.This has made me realise what a bucket of crap redten are ,luckily i never needed to contact support while i was with them but this has made me think how lucky ive been.Roll on Sky connection tomorrow :T .

No joy for me either, despite following my router set-up instructions to the letter.
Has anybody succeeded in getting on-line this evening?
Hi there, I have netgear DG834N and only needed to change username and password in the basic settings. If you are getting the message regarding chap authentication failed it is because you cannot access the redten server as they had shut down their server. It is now up and running again and I have been able to log on to the server via the new settings just this pm.
