Did you point this out to them? I expect they would just hang up on you, they've hung up on me about 5 times so far but I'm persistant!
In their defence when I told them my number they said that they didn't have my MAC from BT but I had told them that I'd spoken to NJP and knew that already.
Not in their defence I asked them to phone BT for my MAC, 24 hours later they said they hadn't managed to do it where it only took me 5 minutes.
No i just laughed and hung up i only did it because when i originally gave them my number they replied that there was no problems so quickly which i thought was strange.0 -
Cheers for that mate - will try it when i get home. Still no luck with any numbers - maybe they're all barred from my mobile?0

hi everyone
anyone know the username/password (default or otherwise) to access this router - lost my info i'm afraid - or can anyone tell me who made it.
i assume many of you got the same router if you joined redten right at the start.
haven't read too far back on the thread yet, just wondered if martin lewis had any advice for us.
thanks for your help in advance, and good luck to us all0 -
Hi, iff you type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar then you can access your router. If you have not changed the user name and password it should be username - redten, password - redten. Hope that helps.0

still 2 answers are better than 10 -
35 minutes waiting for them to answer so I gave up.0

Just done the maths - for a 24Meg connection - thats 3MBs which with a 2GB limit you can use for 666 seconds a month - thats 25 seconds of Internet a day - this emphasises the stitch up for a new 24meg backbone with only a 2GB limit is pointless !! Still no redten connection here - but very happy with my unlocked HSPDA data card with a three PAYG SIM over the last few days for just a £5 for 30 days unlimited Internet as 3 'think' my data card is a normal phone. Also ran up Microsoft Internet sharing wizard so all my PCs have got net access for just a £5 outlay.0

Im confused why people belive a wholesaler should tell people they may lose service. BT Wholesale couldnt have told people that they may lose Redten service without breaking DPA surely? The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20

Well, all I know is that still haven't got mine going yet.It still comes up with CHAPS authentication failed on my Netgear router. Damn it - this broadband is so close I can taste it!!Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

No joy for me either, despite following my router set-up instructions to the letter.
Has anybody succeeded in getting on-line this evening?0
