i must confess i spank the bandwidth pretty hard
also they haven't told me what day my service will run out

Hi FCI, Essex, Ned and all,
Nice to see you all back, like you I still pop in from time to time to see the latest in this sorry saga.
Looks like Clode are dumping those who are heavy users, and as such are costing them money, therefore all seems clear, ... I-player stand by for some heavy downloading, 24/7 from people wanting to escape.
As for you Professa, 6 days without will be a miniscule price to pay (if that was the case) for the peace of mind you will have by being with a reputable company.

was still working this morning when i left the house
never paid a penny other than my monthly installment
so have escaped with about 15 months worth of payments (£300)
never wrote a letter sent about 2 or 3 emails and made a total of about 5 phone calls since april -
the last phone calls were about 3 weeks ago,
i rang on monday, was told i would be put in a queue of about 30 and called back estimate wednesday morning
no call came
wednesday evening rang back was told i was not in queue and would be added at position about 230 now
i said put me back were i should have been in the queue from mondays call
they said i could be making it up to jump queue!!!!!!
i emailed them giving them until 5pm the next day to release me for £50 (the cost of court action) i said there was no way i would pay a penny more,
no response
rang back at 5pm next day shouted at the woman who answered said thanks for nothing i'll see you in court
she put me through to some bloke who said they wanted £125 and said they couldn't budge
i said you're stupid not to take £50 when we all know you'll back out of court with nothing to show for it
i used every bit of ammo i had from this thread, he said don't believe everything you read on here
he said he didn't blame me for taking them to court but could do nothing
back when we had the 5gig cap i swapped out my router for an old broadband modem i had kicking around because it used no bandwidth when idle. however kept having difficulty connecting recently so thought i'd put the router back on and leave on. bandwidth shot back up to 8meg from 4. ooooops!
so i thought forget court i'll live with it.
then out of the blue the letter freeing me arrived
hope this gives some of you some hope/encouragement
cheers all0 -
Hi Folks. I was involved in this forum at the start of the whole fiasco. Through work/family commitments I never really got around to taking clode to court. I like many others wasted several hours of my life trying to contact clode and Redten in the early days.
Recently the broadband service i have been getting has been fine, however I still wanted out.
I set about a plan which involved me downloading large files 10-12GB each night before going to bed. I've done this for about three weeks.
Low and behold yesterday I received a letter from Clode telling me they weren't willing to provide my broadband anymore, releasing me from the next 13 months of my contract and letting me keep my PC, MAC Code also included.
Now I'm not suggesting that everyone should do this, but !!!!!
YeeHaaa

Can anyone recommend a decent peer to peer software that will work well with the equipment supplied by redten?0

Windows SP3 is over 500mb in size, it takes 40 minutes to download aswell. I'm struggling tho to install it so I'm downloading it twice at a time just in case one of the files didn't come down properly. I'm sorry because this means downloading 1Gb every 40 minutes, any ideas anybody.
I will perservere however, even if it takes a month or two.

we should start a list of big download files.
America's Army: Special Forces (Overmatch) v2.8.3 Full Install is 1.99Gb.0 -
There are a few Ultimate editions of Vista kicking about that are in excess of 7gb. Obviously they won't run on the outdated Redten PC's but they might be worth downloading for when you get a new one.
The new adobe Creative suite trial is over 12gb but don't download that as it would be sure to make Clode end your contract and leave you looking for an alternative broadband supplier !!0 -
Competition time kids:T , lets see who can get a MAC the quickest. On your marks, get set, GO:j.
Lineage II Chaotic Throne: Gracia Part 2 3.91Gb
