  • Hello evveryone,

Just thought you all might like to be updated.

Have just received a letter from the FSA regarding my complaint to advise me that my claim has now been assigned to a complaints officer who will investigate and try to resolve my complaint against Clode.

This officer discovered in his investigations that I had advised them in July that my complaint had been resolved through the court system and he was therefore also advising me that having been given the case he was now closing the case.

Not bad going for a speedy addressing of my problem which I notified them of in April/May 2008 --spot on for the statutory bodies - eh what?

Glad to see people still getting out from Clodes, originally redtens, clutches with no penalty as per their original contract.

Am still with BT getting 7Mb speed on an 8Mb line via a Netgear n router with wirelss transfer of 240 Mbps to 6 components. Solid --no dropouts. ( can't get O2/Be or virgin where I am. --my grandchildren looking forward to getting fibre optic supply for their kids ha ha)

    keep up the good work

  • FAT CAT DITCHES REDTEN CUSTOMERS

ISP Fatcat Internet, which acquired the assets of troubled UK ISP RedTen Internet during June this year, following a range of service problems and financial disputes (related news history), has now ceased providing support to Ex-RedTen customers due to yet another payment dispute. RedTen had originally been one of the first UK ISPs to bundle “free” laptops with a broadband package, though they quickly fell into financial difficulties.

Ex-RedTen users that attempt to contact Fatcat on the 0871 317 1004 support number are given an automated message apologising for the loss of support due to a lack of payment and directing users to contact the manager of Clode Retail Finance. The move is all the more unusual because both RedTen and Fatcat have historically appeared to be backed by the Clode finance company.

To date Fatcat’s website continues to say “coming soon” as it did several months ago and the situation surrounding RedTen’s former customers appears to remain perpetually confused.

have just spoken to Louise at clode and she says they will not cancel my account and that the message to phone clode manager is wrong and that they are trying to get it removed, she also claims the broadband has been unlimited and unrestricted since June.
she also says that the broadband supplier has not changed it is still njp.

Are you a light or heavy user? I suspect it was only the heavy users that were moved to fatcat, the light users being left with NJP on the 5GB cap, which means that clode can fund it out of money coming in. The whole setup still stinks of rotting fish to me, as indeed it always did.

I am certainly not sorry to be out of it.

    Good luck

I have had no email for 24 hrs now and this is the fourth time in the last few months.
It is an unreliable service and I have had enough!
Clode tell me that this is due to server problems but I have also read on line about bills not being paid and I get nothing from Clode that convinces me that the service will be reliable in future. I pay for broadband and email with a FREE PC but get no reliable service from either!
I was promised a letter four weeks ago and where doesn "breathe" fit in on this? First Redten, then NJP, now Breathe and Clode. No emails, no letters explaining what is going on. The Service is atrocious and I spoke to the CS chap ( Nick) at Clode who tells me that he has only been in post since Tuesday when the last person moved out....Not his fault but I think i ought to be in touch with my MP and the court to claim....
any advice on what i need to go to court with would be appreciated.
    thanks

You will find a lot of useful info at www.deadten.co.uk icluding email addy's for nick davies( Cheif Executive), I had email from myself back in August! . I wish you luck I had to buy my way out the contract.
  • I too have no email, both the SMTP and pop servers have disappeared. I wonder how much longer before all internet access goes. I have paid £19.99 for 21 months and am considering jumping ship. Who is providing the internet access now and how do I go about getting a MAC. How do you go about changing provider if you can't get a MAC?

Zaggle/Breathe are taking money from my bank even though i left them ages ago and closed account down. i even cancelled debit card and today low and behold get an email saying they couldnt collect payment and could i sort it out. i want my refund from weeks ago and not getting anywhere. If i had not of cancelled card they would of taken another payment and that would of been 2 in 2 weeks which is shocking, and they want me to ring there rip off 0870 number..
  • Same problem here, no email available once more.
Have only just found this forum, thought I was on my own when internet access suddenly disappeared earlier this year. I too have been through all the useless telephone conversations and letters to redten and clode to try and get service back. Was with NJP, now supposed to be with fatcat but for how much longer I wonder!
I will trace back through the threads and try to see if I too can offload this useless ISP
