I think a few people are on holiday and just glancing in. Some are busy gathering their evidence together for court cases and filling in their forms.
I bet some people are looking round for other ISP's now they know they can get out etc.
Plus some of us have had the flu if you please so not been so attentive.
I also suspect a large number of people are getting settled by following the sugggestions and posts of the forum and just not publishing it
We'll keep here as long as people need the support to get free and clear.
Well I am going quiet now too as off to bed early,
regards to all

Personal message from a former Redten customer (or is that 'cuistomer' [sic]).
Cageyr would like to thank Redten Internet for resolving his PC, email, or connection problems. Sadly, you didn't. You just dumped me and ran off with my 3 year subscription money.
You could have called me but never did.*
Kind Regards
Cageyr
*(please note you would have been charged a lot less than 10p per minute, even from a mobile)
The carefully crafted irony of this post was lost when the moderators removed the preceding one from fatcat. I'll settle for that though.0 -
may be a little quieter in here but I think it is due to flu and being busy getting stuff together for the courts.0

Got the following email from Mr Davies:
"Mr Daddyman
I would point out that your current high usage levels clearly exceeds both our own and any reasonable Fair Usage Policy in place within the Broadband market.
It also clearly demonstrates that you are enjoying an unrestricted and unlimited service as per the terms of your agreement which is contrary to the claims you make in your recent court submission.
However it is also clear form your comments below and previous emails that you remain dissatisfied with your broadband service despite the fact that you are clearly enjoying full use of it.
I am due to shortly submit our defense in your court case ref. ******* and this will of course use evidence of your current usage levels to counteract your claim however I am sure we both wish to avoid this if we can avoid it.
The current balance on your account is £412 and I would propose that we agree a full and final settlement of your case where we clear your balance in full (with no further payments due) and supply your MAC code to allow you to migrate elsewhere.
Given the deadline for submission of our defense this offer will remain open until 4/7/08 and I would ask you email me directly if you wish to take it up.
Regards
Nick Davies"
I thought the threats were a bit uncalled for but I would have probably done something similar if it was me, alls fair in love and war.
Got my MAC code within 24 hours and desparately looking for a new provider. No BE, o2 or cable in this area, any ideas?
I want to use my MAC before I cancel my court papers, just in case.:o0 -

I migrated to Tiscali, as I had the same problem as yourself, no BE O2 etc, I know there has been a lot of negative feedback for them mainly concerning customer service, and slow speeds, but to date I have had no problem, though I have not had an invoice yet as only been with them for 3 weeks.
Speed has matched Redten and NJP, (when NJP were actually not restricting me), and is about as fast as I can expect being out in the sticks, around 3000Kb/s download and 800Kb/s upload. (The local exchange only hosts 2000Kb/s supposedly and I am 4 miles from the exchange so not too bad a speed)
They have close on 2 million customers, so are in the big league, and I suppose when you look at the customer/complaint ratio, it may not be too bad, though I know that 1 complaint is too many.
All I can do is repeat the quote from the guy who fell from the top of the Empire State Building, as he passed each floor people could hear him saying "so far so good"!!
So far so good, no complaints yet.
I got telephone rental and unlimited broadband for the now famous figure of 19.99 per month on a 12 month contract, same as broadband only from deadten. Mind you I think the price has gone up a bit since I placed my order back in March just after the start of the trouble. Free connection and Seimens wireless router thrown in as well, though I did not need the router as I prefer the netgear rangemax that I was already using.
Worth a look anyway. www.tiscali.co.uk
Glad you got a result

Well people we are now sinking to disparaging comments. Not dignified but oh colder , you did make me smile.
Who can forget the beaming smile and giggles from the iraqi pr man as he exhorted how well they were winning and that all was right with the world as it collapsed in and around him. The incongruity of it was too comical for words ( though one cannot forget how he came by his nickname )
I am sure that many people thanked Nick for settling their claims; I hope I remembered to but maybe the hassle made me forget my manners, - can't remember and frankly cannot be bothered to look back my emails.
What I find sad, and disappointing, is that they have not listened to any of the legitimate complaints and comments that have been entered on this forum. They have not learned from their previous reports to OFCOM and OFT.
This is a very bad omen for their future and any future customers they may have; if they had any real genuine desire to become a broadband supplier of some worth.

I'm now free of any contract with Clode...
At last and end to this mess.
Good luck with your battle everyone.0 -
Just to bring you up to date

Hi Folks,
Remember me? I was one of the originals who was eventually offered a £35 settlement which I took and ran to our original supplier of BT (How insane I must be considering the number of complaints redten recieved regarding the connection - but hey at least I know the phone will get answered) and couldnt recommend them enough.
Been jumping into the forum every now and again and cant believe a lot of you are still in the same situation as you were when I was checking daily. I feel your pain brothers - think I would have gone insane by this point
Personally, and I said this to a friend at work who was having similar problems but with her council, the one thing I have learned from this is how little support, regardless of the ombusmans etc they tell you are on your side, you have when things get !!!!ed up. The little man dont stand a chance unless it has a catchy daily record headline to go along with it.
Keep up the good fight though folks and just wanted to say I may be gone but I havent forgotten. :mad:0
