What happens at the end of the three-year contract?
At the end of the three year contract you have two choices: to walk away, or to continue using Redten Internet. If you choose the latter option, we’ll reward you for your loyalty by giving you another computer worth over £500. This second free computer will be completely up to date and, featuring all the latest hardware and software you’d expect of a new computer, will ensure you can enjoy all the latest PC and internet developments and don’t fall behind.
So who's signing up again then??????
On a side note, the 19" monitor was limited to the first 10,000 customers. Accoring to NJP there are only 1,300 customers total including ones from the more recent sign up so I hope everyone got a 19" monitor!!!

How can there be any question about whether the PC was free or not? The free PC was what their whole marketing strategy was based upon!THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT0

I understood the terms to be that the computer was free AS LONG AS you took out the 3 year broadband contract at £19.99 per month (plus £49.99 connection fee)0

Well if there's only 1300 customers, how come they ran out of free PCs then?
Actually, if you take into account overheads, such as staff, rent etc, it's no wonder they've gone tits-up, with that size of client base and turnover!Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

They ran out of PCs as they were supplied by Watford who went under. They then had to find another supplier.
The guy I was talking to earlier was talking about at least 10 other staff, not sure what they have so many staff for. Surely the whole thing pretty much runs itself. Like you say, no wonder they're in trouble.
I'm assuming that they're going to have to pay extra for our use over 2GB so after we start hitting the new service with some big downloads they're going to be in even more trouble! If they do then it's probably a good result for us as we'll most likely be out of the £19.99 a month charge and get to keep the pc.0 -
Here's another gripe. I got fed up of using Dial-up on my Laptop (not a Redten one). So I decided to wire up the phone to my Redten desktop and guess what?
There's no ****ing modem - the cheap skates!!Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Sorry, even though Redten are way beyond resonable expectations on this weeks fiasco I have to disagree. I would have been shocked to find a built in modem on a desktop PC, to me this would have rung alarm bells at them using and disposing of old kit. When providing a PC to go along with a Broadband service why would they have stipulated the PC to have an old fashioned 56k Modem??
  Did I just stick up for Redten there??
 Oh dear.......Mortgage - Free :j
