They are now getting them from NJP, of that I am sure. Thats why people should now be requesting code from NJP/Fast4 and if they dont get it report them to OFCOM.

The only way to stop these people is to report them time and again until it is stopped and they have been fined. OFCOM is actually now mad that they do not have stronger and quicker powers but they are dogged.

Clode are only releasing people because the money they are paying them does not cover the 15Mb cost which they need to pay to NJP. I think Clode are paying for the broadband and redten were paying for the computers; thats why Clode are not worried bout the computers; its leaving redten to chase that if they wish and as they are only worth about 150 now at most they do not seem to be bothering. Clearly they are heading somewhere's else.

    FCI

Hi FCI, phoned NJP this afternoon and got the standard stonewall reply, speak to redten for MAC, pointed out that they could swap us to fast4 so why not mac, again a stonewall answer, phoned OFCOM who asked if I was getting broadband, told them yes, albeit a very reduced service, suggested I phone BT wholesale, I had already tried that but the number I had is no longer in service, he then suggested I persist with redten, as they will not get involved with individuals, however they are investigating this debacle, amd are currently awaiting a reply from the managing director of redten, I pointed out that unless Baber Gulzer was lying ( as if he would ) then he could be in for a long wait as the MD of redten had posted on this forum that he had resigned, Got the reply they (ofcom) don't do forums. I suggested that they should as it may be informative, if nothing else the forum highlights the total disregard these people have for the paying public, mind you I think they are aware of that from the number of complaints.

You had better be quick --domain due to expire on 31.5.2008....as is most of the sites or they are inactive. redteninternet.com is inactive.

    Expiration Date: 2008-05-31
    Creation Date: 2006-05-31
    Last Update Date: 2008-03-13

    :rotfl:

Hey to all intents and purposes they have been inactive for the last couple of months.

They are already dead but won't lay down, or perhaps they are just propped up!!!

Hello again to all fellow sufferers . I just thought some of you would like to know that (further to my post on this subject last week ) I have since been able to order a completely new b.t line into my home for £30 ! And I got an appt for the engineer to come and install within one week . B.T assure me I will be able to source a new i.s.p through the new line 48hrs. after its instalation . This doesnt mean I am giving up the fight with clode / redscum , but it does mean I will have a proper , reliable e-mail facility with which to pursue this ! I am told that once the new line is up and running , I can transfer my original phone number to the new line , then cancel the old one immediately . Does anyone think this is a bad idea ? from where I 'm sitting , it looks like the best option , but I can't help wondering if I'm missing something ?!

I would double check with BT that moving your old number to this new line won't mean that the ISP/TAG gets moved as well, can't think it would be might be worth checking if your going to go through all this hassle only to end up in the same situation.
Let us know how you get on.
  • Good point essex - I will check before transfering number . If their is any risk of that happening , I'll just have too keep the NEW number . No real problem with that . I will post once new line is operational - I'm almost excited by prospect ! I have been recommended ZEN Internet , might give them a try . Only a one monthly contract so not much to lose . Apparently , they even give you your MAC when you phone them and ask for it !

BT did an internal home move for me. They pretended I moved house. No need to install a new line.

We was lucky enough to get our mac and moved over to o2 around mid April, no money extorted from us by clode and the mac was released by someone at Redten , anyway the main point is we normally had the direct debit taken at the begining of the month and have obviously canceled this now it is the 20th (21st technically) and have heard nothing from Clod, is there a timeframe they must adhere too after missed payments by which they must make contact?

They have up to 6 years to come after you if they think you owe them money.

They way it operates is not automatic.

They must request the money from the direct debit every month and if they dont, it is not paid to them. But they can request it any time unless you cancel your direct debit. If you cancel your direct debit then your bank tells their bank who will prob tell them ( automatically done ) and they will at that stage write to you if they think you still owe them money.

If you had no contact with them while you were canceelling everything with redten then they might think that redten agreed to their release arrangements at the time, which was redten was to pay them back 300 pounds for those who joined in 2006 early 2007.
