Thanks FCI, I am wondering now if the MAC that Clode have sent me is invalid and that I should have got one that starts BBIP, anyone else received a MAC that starts LYLC?
Might email them and find out.
This is the standard used when switching from LYLC broadband provision --it is clear that we were all moved to NJP service --but after I left --remember the date of 11.4.2008.
This makees it harder to switch and you may not get a seamless switch over.
The advice is to contact BT wholesale direct in this case.
I can confirm that some of what is written on the web site is true as OFCOM were contacting BT on my behalf to switch, if redten had not given me my mac code.
See very helpful web site ....

Has anyone else tried to use their MAC to move to O2? I have just tried and the O2 site says it is an invalid MAC and they normally start with BBIP or FTIP, mine starts with LYLC. Anybody any ideas? Do O2 use a different connection to BT standard? Should I just say I don't have a MAC for the O2 setup? If anyone else has successfulyl signed up to O2 I would appreciate your help. Many thanks.
I also tried to use my mac with 02. Mine starts LYWM the firts attempt i just copied and pasted the mac of the email, that was rejected exactly the same as MrBig's the second time i typed it in myself paying special attention to the zero's and o's and it was accepted fine, ive just recieved by text confirmation that my 02 order is going through.0 -

I've signed up with BE which is same as O2 - so far no problems took mac first time - takes 10 days to go through. Did it on 18thMay so should change on last day of NJP 28th. Very efficient so far with confirmations etc , very impressed. Should get the £40 intro fee from topcashbacks - link on MSE site
Mac started with LZSM00 -

Yes to all intents they are fast4 seems to be NJP retail and just like Redten they reduced their entire user base from unlimited to 15 Gig exactly the service now offered by Redten even the bolt on bandwidth at £2 per gig is the same they have never moved from that position which is why I believe Redten has gone as far as they ever will
oh yes fast4 capped speed is about 30 k again just like RedtenWho cares ??0 -

I believe they are one and the same. But don't knock it at least you are getting a reply.

I bet all those that were left and did not raise a formal complaint and ask for contract broken release have now been transferred formally to fast4 from the 11.5.2008 or 18.5.2008 as that is the 30 days minimum contract period with NJP/redten following the intial minimum from NJP ( who are not an ISP sic! ) so I bet now slammed again to Fast4.
This would account for the codes beginning LYCL as fast 4 is a partial LLiu supplier not LLui free like BT.
Unless you object to the slamming and complain to OFCOM, the only way you will get out is to pay the remaining months in your contract.
All those who are still with NJP/Fast 4 even if you have complained should further complain to OFCOM regarding both NJP and Fast 4 who should both have written to you 14 fdays before the change.
This is the second time this year they have done this --they did it in January/February 2008.
OFCOM needs the info on these companies to put a stop to it.
I believe redten is just about to do another transformation ---lots of activity and conflicting reports on their business dealings between rcl and odl. between companies house and UKdata
House up for sale etc. Liqiudation cases were due in court in June.

Used my code on saturday to switch to O2 (starts LYNE) everything appears to be going alright, got text messages and emails to inform me of the progress every step of the way, very professional something I have not been getting for a while. Service starts 28/05 and the router and starter pack are coming tomorrow so I assume eveything is OK. You need a mac code to switch to O2, O2 use there own equipment at the bt exchange(LLU) thats why you get the increased speeds hope this helps.0 -
Requested my MAC code from the jokers again. Though sod it.
Listed all the dates I requested it and copied in Macevidence at Ofcom.
An astonishing 48 days has gone by without a MAC code.

Thanks this did the trick, manually typed it in. Shame though as I think I will be without internet for couple of days if O2 take 10 days to connect!0
