First things first - don't publish your email address on websites (such as this) as internet robots will come around, pick up your email address, and send you more SPAM. You cannot blame your ISP for everything.
At a guess NJP don't have SPAM filters, whereas RedTen probably did before the problems arose in March.
I agree, with a computer engineer for a son, I am well aware of "bots", but the question has to be asked why don't NJP have filters? also to quote NJP "we are only supplying to Redten the same backbone service as BT Wholesale" and "Redten are your ISP" which if that is the case then the same filters should be in place.
I am not blaming my ISP for everything, even I know they had nothing to do with the Cardiff losing to Portsmouth. :rotfl:
Have a good day no offence intended or taken.

I am now on 14.5GB of my limit and I am still waiting for anyone from Redten, Clode or NJP to send me a MAC code so I can surf as I used to.
Ofcom's last wonderful comment was if I had not joy requesting a MAC - then I should request cancellation of service - oh how I laughed.
Clode are always saying that they are lookinig into it - 70 days into this bucket of crap and still no further forward - well excluding the offer to pay over £200 for a MAC code.0 -
I found the spam level when with Redten rose steadily but that may be just the general increase in same and yes it has shot up since the abduction by NJP (as JP very nicely put it ) hey thats not the same JP as in NJP is it ?Who cares ??0

I received my MAC on Saturday, haven't tried it yet. In two minds to go with BT for the free Hub at up to 8MB unlimited, or go for the superfast O2 unlimited internet, any one got the BT hub and recommend it?0

Got my acknowledgement letter from the court on Saturday - Clode intend to defend all my claim.
I cant wait to see on what basis LOL. Actually, what I think is going to happen is that by aknowledging the claim they buy themselves 28 days to sort it out. Still, knowing deadten that wont happen. Kinda makes me wish I had taken this course of action much earlier however
@Essex - did you get your mac code then? When did that happen. I want mine regardless of the mess we find ourselves in - surely they cannot deny me that? Do you think its an idea to ask for it?0 -

Do you have to use the home hub as the firewall? To be honest I just want the phone as it looks really smart, I know I am a gadget hussy.0 -
I rang Clode last week to find out why I hadn't had any response to my letter rejecting their settlement offer (I offered to pay only for the extra equipment). I spoke to Nicola, she apologised that I hadn't rec'd any form of reply, but as far as she knew all counter-offers where being rejected.
She went on to say that they are confident that Redten will be able to restore the original service - I asked when? She couldn't confirm when that would be!
She said that Louise is dealing with all of the correspondence from the select few who had settlement offers, but she would ask Nick to reply to my letter as soon as he was in.
My connection has been throttled down to 196kbps (dload) and I have only used 5.3gb so far this month. It took just over 36 hours to download a movie (a legitimate, paid for download I might add) off X-Box live the other day!
Frankly, we, as a family can do without this stress. Both my wife's parents are very ill, my nan is in and out of hospital, we have just had two of our children participate in Year 6 and Year 9 SATs - things are pretty fraught at home at the moment.
I think the only course now is to speak to a solicitor and let him/her sort it out.0 -
My speed has been downgraded to 30K down 30K up so switched it off not worth using:mad:   :mad:0

@phil, like i say i suspect that Clode have defended my action to buy more time for Redten. The way I see it, the only way they can restore the original service is:
1) Supply unlimited up/downloads subject to fair useage.
2) Restore original speed when supplied by BT (sometimes my DL is less than 250kb/s) - with BT it was closer to 500kb/s
3) Confirm auto upgrade to 24mb when available
4) Compensate us all for the downtime/stress/additional costs experienced.
5) stop the intermittant outages and email problems (which raised their head again last night for me)
If they do that then I will consider sticking around. As it happens from a personal point of view I have lost confidence totally in both Redten and Clode.0
