Can i ask what number you phoned and what you asked them as i phoned a number yesterday and was given no info at all.

08714240185 (NJP Services) I just have called this number now (good customer service) and the guy see my details on his screen...so...I will be runing on 18/03 and he told me WE will receive soon a letter with the new login details.
He informed me that 38 customers have used the MAC code supplied by BT, so this people will not be with NJP on the 18/03.
I ask about fast4, and he told me fast4 is other customer, nothing to do with us, about the "cap" thing he told me he is not sure about that, and if redten told me I will be uncapped then I will be. (I hope so, if not I will jump boat after).

This fiasco is only matched by the loss of service when I first signed up with Redten and the subsequent hassle getting the free vista upgrade with the pc I got.

At least you got your Vista upgrade! Afte much faffing and many emails to Tariq I was told it was all Microsoft's fault as they were refusing to honour the deal after the expiry date. I contacted Microsoft's customer service people and got an email bakc saying they were very sorry and they were looking into it ...and then silence.

Dont know if anyone knows the answer to this, but will our email addresses stay the same do you think? That would be a pain if they changed!!!

    IMPORTANT NOTE
One possible way to check your migration status is to log onto the FAST4 (!!!) members area at...

    www.fast4.net/members

Using your existing RedTen username and password (ie the name before the @dsl.com). I've tried this and all my details, along with an activation date of 18/03/2008 are on the system.

I've spoke to Paul at NJP who confirmed my discovery and said that the only thing to change re usenames is that the ADSL username (ie the one you enter into the modem setup) is now suffixed with "@surfmax" rather than "@dsl.com". No mention of email address but I use gmail anyhoo.

Nice to end the week on an optimistic note.

In response to colderuk - if that's NJP's attitude to service/helpline then they don't sound much better than Deadten!

I jumped ship because I really cant see this getting any better? If Deadten where having problems with BT, surely they would have planned in advance the migration to a new supplier. It sounds to me that the plug was pulled due to finances? if thats the case what is NJP's motive for taking over - will they get paid? maybe for the next few months - until it happens again!

    Footnote:
apologies for not being the optimist, but it has just struck me that will Deadten get any new customers after this gets around on the net? That will surely affect their business.

i feel like i am getting the p*ss taken out of me any number i phone they are unhelpful yet other people keep saying they are getting helpfull advice its really starting to annoy me now.

Before I signed up to red ten I sent an email to customer service asking a few Q's on the 22/10/07

    Hello,

I’m looking to sign up for your Internet service with a new desktop PC. However before I sign up I would like to ask a few questions.

When I get the new PC I would like to install a wireless network PCI card, would this invalidate the warranty as the box would have to be opened?

If for any reason I HAD to cancel your service. What would I be charged? What would happen to the PC?

If for any reason redten went bust what would happen to the PC? And what would happen to my service? (with regarding to changing to a new provider and getting a MAC code)

    The reply...

    Dear Sir,

Thank you for your interest in our deals we are offering.

If the PC is opened and you add/remove or tamper with the inside of the PC this shall invalidate your warranty.

If you were to cancel the service, you can return our equipment and a charge of 150.00 is applicable, or you may keep the PC and a cancellation charge would be applicable depending on how long you have had the service.

If REDTEN went bust the PC would be yours, the 36 month agreement would be cancelled as Redten was unable to honour the agreement and the MAC Code can be retrieved from BT as they are behind the mainframe

I hope the above points have answered your issues

    Regards,
    Redten Internet Care

and so I signed up, apart from the lack of communication (no letters with log-on detail, had to phone) I've had an excellent broadband service. I thought this email would cover me, but looking back to it. The email reads the PC is 'yours' but the finance is for the computer so its mine anyway. nothing to do with the service. Is this right?

This doesn't make sense as people have had an email from NJP servives stating
"It is not Fast4 who are very soon to be looking after your internet
connection but rather Fast4s supplier, NJP Services."
Also tired what you say and it comes up with invalid username and password.
