A bit concerned having just contacted NJP to find out that I do not appear to be on any of their lists, ceased or otherwise.
Have rung BT wholesale who assure me that my mac code is still with Redten.
Wonder just how many more Redten customers have not yet been passed on to NJP and why?
Still waiting for an e-mail response from Redten.

Can i ask what number you phoned and what you asked them as i phoned a number yesterday and was given no info at all.

Exact same reply I got word for word, I posted this a couple of days ago on this forum. Good old cut and paste :T

Anyone heard from Nicola at Clode yet, she was apparently off yesterday (probably stress!).

Any other updates from Citizens Advice, OFCOM, BT, Redten:rotfl: ,NJP, Fast4, or any of the others touted as taking over.....

I got a read receipt from her, but got an official "reply" from
beata.monczkowski - check out my email i posted a while back. They basically are saying redten have a new supplier, should be on by the end of the week (which we know is rubbish) and contact Redten with any queries.

I replied to her this morning saying Redten being VERY cagey and I want to know where I stand legally with them. Had a read receipt but no response yet. Watch this space.

Sorry about the font... dunno what happened there :rotfl:

Try forwarding the read receipt back to her advising that you acknowledge she has read the email and you are awaiting a response ;) , depending on the mail system they use you might be getting the read receipt without them knowing (Lotus Notes does this, very handy when sending to generic emails like sales, info etc as you get a read receipt from everyone who views the message)...... Might shock them into replying.

Also be interested if anyone ahs managed to jump ship sucessfully with their mac code as monday is D- day for the mac.

I just phoned my new ISP (plusnet, who I was with before) they have confirmed my MAC code has been accepted. I signed up on the Tuesday morning 1st thing and will be activated on the 18th.

Will then have to fight it out with Deadten(who will probably go bust) and Clode!!

@Donstar - just forwarded the read receipt - lets see what happens.

@handyandyg - you are a braver person than me for doing that. Though I do admire your guts :)

    Had a reply from NJP:

I can confirm that your order is moving to our network services correctly and should be complete by thr 18th: there are in fairness only a small handful of customers of RedTen who have failed orders and I am happy to say you are not one of them!<br><br>Kind Regards,<br>Paul<br>Sales Enquiry

I guess this has helped my state of mind. At least I know im sorted now and look forward to getting back online asap.

Just got a letter today from NJP with the new ADSL username/password etc and confirming they are migrating me "by 18th March". Letter was dated 12 March and sent 2nd class - no expense spared there then!
The letter gives NJP contact details as 08714240185 (cust serv) and 09066090901 (uk tech supp at 60p/min). There is also a url where you can logon with your new username and see your details, but not much else.
I paid 3 yrs upfront and intend to stick with it until next week and see what happens. This fiasco is only matched by the loss of service when I first signed up with Redten and the subsequent hassle getting the free vista upgrade with the pc I got.
At least this gives me a chance to revisit the leisurely days of dialup connections while I wait for the switch.
Bravely trying to see this all as a learning experience!

In response to colderuk - if that's NJP's attitude to service/helpline then they don't sound much better than Deadten!

I jumped ship because I really cant see this getting any better? If Deadten where having problems with BT, surely they would have planned in advance the migration to a new supplier. It sounds to me that the plug was pulled due to finances? if thats the case what is NJP's motive for taking over - will they get paid? maybe for the next few months - until it happens again!

    Footnote:
apologies for not being the optimist, but it has just struck me that will Deadten get any new customers after this gets around on the net? That will surely affect their business.
