No longer waiting REDTEN:D0 -
Haven't read it all yet, thanks for posting.
Although who from "technical" said it was changing from 8 to 24 megabytes? (should be bits!)0 -
a bit more relaxed here.
Seems Redten have told Clode all on by end of week yet it looks like we might be waiting a bit longer.
Either way, lets hope this resolves itself.0 -

While I'm happy to hear that after 4 days without internet access and the prospect of nothing back until the 18th/19th there appears to be some kind official explanation it still doesn't excuse this shambles.
Do REDTEN have friends at the Register - the tone of the article was very forgiving I thought - even managed to plug what good value for money they were!
EDIT: Ok, I've re-read the article and I'm probably being harsh on the Register they are obviously trying to be balanced and give REDTEN the right to reply.0 -
Right, well I've just spoken to NJP and it transpires that I'm one of the lucky 38 who won't be getting transferred on the 18th/19th/whenever, as there has been a termination notice put on my line apparently. I called Redten (on the sodding 50p/min number as yet again no one answers on the other numbers ), only to be told "Our systems have not been updated with details of this yet - please call back in a few days and we will tell you what will happen next".
Meanwhile I now not only have no web access from home, I'm also not 100% sure I'll ever get it back at this rate! Words fail me, I'm so mad at the minute....0 -

According to njp I am one of the lucky 38, according to Redten I am not as they have fixed the 38 so there is now no lucky 38. Doesn't explain why njp don't have any of my details. Could a few more people phone njp to see if they're in this 38 as there seems to be a high proportion on here for some reason. I'm going to phone them back to see why I'm not on their system seeing as according to Redten there is no 38.0 -
If Redten were unhappy with BT services, which as far as I am aware I have had no problems with the service! then why are they not paying their bills and swopping to another company that uses the BT wholesale broadband that Redten were using?????
I jumped ship on the Tuesday morning, because I rely so much on the internet for everyday use, that for a company like Redten to not even give any warning as to what's going on - well that is the archilles heel! - goodbye redten will argue my case with solictor - by the way, no notice of 14 day warning!!!0 -
I totally agree with the above poster. I signed up for BT broadband on Monday night using my MAC code. Incidently, I phoned BT Wholesale today. A very nice Irish chap said that it shows on his system that my line will be swapped to this Murph whatever !!!!!! on the 18th, but did show an order received from BT broadband. I'll just wait and see which one I end up with. At the end of the day, we haven't done anything wrong have we?Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

your computer may be out of date after 3 years but you can upgrade it, no need to get rid just UPGRADE the components i have had mine 3 years and its 3 gig processor look at the new machines still coming out with 1.8 ghz processor and in th 2 gig range, there is the issue of 64 bit machines, do you know if that computer is 64 bit if it isn't then it may not be worth it, its up to you.My Signature is MY OWN!!0

Like you Handy I had a good service with respect to the broadband, but Redten are moving to NJP Services which is not a part of BT or does not use BT lines. It is NJP Services own lines under the Local Loop Unbunding scheme.
Also I am in the same baot as others waiting to see if my MAC will work with NJP Services or Orange. To be honest I want the service to go to Orange and Redten with the rest of its so called help desk and managment just to gone and out of my life. Over the last few days I have spoken to some intelligent and professional customer service people who have helped me out, some times just by listening, unlike Redten customer support who blatently lie through thier back teeth.
Bit of a negitive start to the day but I am going for a stroll and take my daughter to school. See you all later with some better news hopefully.Ron.
