Right down know if this is allowed but ive set a little forum up with the hope we can gather everyone from different sites and put all our info and heads together rather than having to look in several places: Redten -Deadten?

Hoping this will be ok as its not like i'm making anything out of it.

Probably best to keep it all here.

    Or use the geteven.biz site?!?!?

I think those of you jumping ship should know that - having been following this up with trading standards - if we jump ship WE are in breach of contract as it is a finance agreement and not a monthly direct debit direct to Redten.

As in the finance contract states that they (Clode finance Ltd) have joint liability it is them who have to ensure that our service is re-instated - NOT REDTEN's!

If the finance company fail to re-estabilish a provider it is then them who are in breach of contract and we should be able to get out of the credit agreement. If Redten is in breach of contract there is actually very little we can do due to the nature of the payments going through the credit company.

As for the change of speed/capping problem, as this is covered in the terms and conditions section of the agreement and companies are allowed to revise these there is very little we can do if this problem arises - but it is Clode Finance Ltd's job to sort out any problems IF Redten have gone bust. When i challenged them with this yesterday afternoon they said all technical problems should still be addressed to Redten. The woman on the phone sounded a little grumpy when i told her Trading Standards have told me otherwise and that the joint liability means as Clode are the company we pay it is THEIR job to sort out this problem on our behalf.

I also have Trading Standards investigating whether Redten really have gone under or not as at the moment it is still not exactly clear. I will post more as i know it.

Basic advice - it's annoying, but stick with it until all is clear as jumping ship now will leave YOU in breach of contract - NOT Redten or Clode Finance Ltd!

Thanks for this post. I've been stressing about what to do about all this and this forum has been a real lifeline. My internet access here at work is very restricted (I can't even check Hotmail!) I'm supposed to be flying to Amsterdam next week and my e-tickets haven't been printed yet!

I signed up under the original deal back in November 2006 and like others here I've not really had any problems errm...well apart from never getting my promised Vista upgrade ...my printer taking a couple of extra months to arrive ...wrong keyboard ...none of the promised "free software" every month ...ok, not totally problem free:rotfl: . Anyway, apart from my access not working on occasion (network maintenance I'd always assumed) the actual internet connection has been pretty steady and a decent speed. I was on the verge of jumping ship until I read this post. It pains me to stick with them after the shoddy way this has played out but it doesn't seem we have any alternative until we can find some way of proving that Clode is in breach of contract.

Hi all, just off the phone from fast4 who have advised me that they will only be providing the sedate for completion rvice as did BT and that RT would continue as normal, with unlimited broadband supply but through their system. The latest date for completion of the system is hopefully 18th.
I also managed to speak with RT yesterday who told me the same thing and that customers would receive a free months service at end of contract.
Like everyone else I am tied in for another 19 months, so if things don't work out from Tuesday will just bite the bullet and migrate then, have only just paid this month anyway.
Hope this helps a little, if anyone wants a dial up connection number let me know plenty still about.

Just a small observation. Until this morning, I was still able to log into my Redten webmail account. As of this afternoon, I can't. I'm now only getting:

ERROR : Connection dropped by imap-server
    THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT ;)

    Same message for me...
Cant see why changing the backbone provider will affect the mail in anyway? surely the mail is on their servers and a few config changes will put the servers onto the new system unless they have rented the Mailservers from someone as well and have defaulted on them too?

Apparently you should have already backed up any e-mails as they system would go down and all e-mails lost. This was apparently sent out to all redten e-mail accounts, I don't check mine so I can't tell you whether they did or not.
