It doesn't appear that the service will move to Fast4, but it'll be NJP services that will be providing the infrastructure to Redten wholesale. Pretty much like BT did before. Redten will still be the ISP, but over Local Loop Unbundled equipment. That's what it looks like. You'll still pay Redten, or like me, you've paid upfront already.

Right down know if this is allowed but ive set a little forum up with the hope we can gather everyone from different sites and put all our info and heads together rather than having to look in several places: Redten -Deadten?

Hoping this will be ok as its not like i'm making anything out of it.

Right, got through to Redten and the chap there basically explained they have stopped using BT as their servers seemed to be very unreliable.

They have switched to NJP but BT switched the server off a lot quicker than anyone was expecting. Confirmed migration in progress and all should be done by the 18th.

As a result of this we are getting 1 month free broadband (not sure how that will work re: finance agreement) but he said the BT message was nonsense and not to worry. He also confirmed that we would be getting an unlimited uncapped service from the new provider.

Guess Ill wait till the 18th to see what happens but I feel a little more confident that this is a temporary "blip".

I think those of you jumping ship should know that - having been following this up with trading standards - if we jump ship WE are in breach of contract as it is a finance agreement and not a monthly direct debit direct to Redten.

As in the finance contract states that they (Clode finance Ltd) have joint liability it is them who have to ensure that our service is re-instated - NOT REDTEN's!

If the finance company fail to re-estabilish a provider it is then them who are in breach of contract and we should be able to get out of the credit agreement. If Redten is in breach of contract there is actually very little we can do due to the nature of the payments going through the credit company.

As for the change of speed/capping problem, as this is covered in the terms and conditions section of the agreement and companies are allowed to revise these there is very little we can do if this problem arises - but it is Clode Finance Ltd's job to sort out any problems IF Redten have gone bust. When i challenged them with this yesterday afternoon they said all technical problems should still be addressed to Redten. The woman on the phone sounded a little grumpy when i told her Trading Standards have told me otherwise and that the joint liability means as Clode are the company we pay it is THEIR job to sort out this problem on our behalf.

I also have Trading Standards investigating whether Redten really have gone under or not as at the moment it is still not exactly clear. I will post more as i know it.

Basic advice - it's annoying, but stick with it until all is clear as jumping ship now will leave YOU in breach of contract - NOT Redten or Clode Finance Ltd!

I'm also a redten customer, been very happy with their service so far. But have, like others, been without access since Monday.

I've spoken to NJP services, who are providing a wholesale service to Redten in place of BT. We should have exactly the service we had before, but ADSL2 where it has been enabled. If your exchange has been enabled for Cable and Wireless ADSL2, then you should get your free upgrade. There shouldnt be any further charge, or caps or usage limits put in place.

This I think has been a major screw up for Redten, at least on the communication side of things. But then again, most of the smaller operators I've been with have had the same kind of problems.

NJP told you that there was no limits on the redten service that they are going to be provided?
