I would like to stop my DD;but I can,t obtain my MAC so i daresn,t take the risk.
I wait in trepidation every day for 'no connection' back again.
Throughly demoralising studying online and wondering if I can get connected again..them 10 days in March were the pits!
I,m a small download user, basically just for OU study..less than 5 GB per mth,but its just the reliability issue.
    I JUST DON,T SEE ANYWAY OUT...either way i lose...
I would like to move..I would still pay the DD...but this uncertainty about transferring(or even getting my MAC) is causing major 'heartache':( .
I,m just going to wait it out...My tutor already knows the problems..not that there was too much sympathy coming my way(getting your MAC is NO problem!!!)

I wish they would cut me off again, I could then get BT to breach the line or have another line run into the house, at the moment all I get from BT and OFCOM is are you still getting broadband, which of course at this moment in time I am, even if it is not the service I contracted for.

As far as usage goes I watched two programs on I player last night and clocked up 1.9Gb usage, last month was 14.4Gb using the service very carefully, the BBC say never miss a program even if you are out, they should add unless your service is supplied by Redten through NJP, in which case you will not have enough bandwidth.

Hope you are all having a good bank holiday weekend, with obvious exceptions

I do not like people being mislead including myself so I complained to the ASA about Redten advertising free computers. This is a quote from their reply to me:

There are rules in our Code which prohibit advertisers from describing an element of a package, in this case the PC, as "free" if in fact the cost of it is included in the overall package price. However, we note that this offer was withdrawn in early 2007 and both the ad and the free claim are no longer appearing. The current promotion on the Redten website now offers "8Mb Broadband and PC from £12.99 a month" The ad makes it clear that the broadband and the PC are part of the same package and no longer claims that either element is free. Because the ad is no longer appearing and there is no evidence of further consumer detriment, we don't feel there is basis enough for us to take any further action.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
There's a big conspiracy going on! None of these government bodies want to take on a Jessa - it might look bad for the Queen- allegedly!.
Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Hi new to MSE here but have been following from start.

I think that we already knew about above info of offer being withdrawn 2007. The whole thing is still a mess though for people that have been with deadten before then. People after may2007 can get ut of contract for around 30 quid. For those of us who have been since the start (myself included) are expected to pay 200+ to get out of a broadband only contract.

    The whole thing stinks

This is weird as it's these people on the £12.99 payments that are basically being cut free for £30, when their deal was for PC & Broadband, us long termer's, that quite clearly had the offer of FREE PC and paying at least £19.99 are being asked to pay for it. Doesn't make sense to me, Our contracts and Invoices show FREE PC, why are we expected to pay for that.

  • Just to say that I cancelled my direct debit for April when I wasn't transferred over to NJP. Yesterday I received a letter from the collections section of Clode advising me that they hadn't received the direct debit and as this was possibly an oversight on my part, could I please pay ASAP. Mmmmm - I don't think so. Obviously Clode aren't very joined up amongst other things, and the 'Redten' department haven't thought to speak to the collections department about all this. Time for another letter to Clode I think.
I rejected their derisory offer last week and am still waiting for them to 'research my complaint'. I wonder if they'll be doing their bit 'ASAP'??;)
