Dear Member
You have used over 6GB of bandwidth this month already and we thought we
would send you a quick email to make sure you understand the options
available to you as a valued member. Your account type includes 15Gb of
bandwidth every month. If you think you will need a bit extra this month,
simply visit your members area where you will find the Bolt On options
available to you. They are set out to make it easy and affordable each
month for you to be in control The bolt on's available are discounted so
it is cheaper to buy in bulk than at the end of the month in single units.
I hope this helps and thank you for your much valued custom.

They are priceless are they not, I hope Nick Davies is reading this thread at the moment when he says Redten is in a position to provide us with the unlimited Broadband signed for in our contract. Furthermore Nick my unlimited broadband supply is for £19.99 per month for 36 months my equipment is £0 and that is stated on my invoices.

Still waiting for my offer come on Mr Davies surprise me.0

Hi all,
As far as I can see, their mails make no mention of MAC codes - I suspect they can't be bothered even with that courtesy (or that Redten no longer have staff to do it? Apparently there's noone to answer the phone...), and they'll just put a cease order on the line of anyone who accepts the offer.
Also - and IANAL, but if I understand what others have said correctly it should be a moot point since they've breached the contract in any case - but weren't more recent sign-ups for a package? My understanding when I signed up in January this year was that I was signing up for a "desktop PC and unlimited broadband package" for £12.99 a month (although I did still get an order confirmation showing the PC as free -- and never received the PC). While the situation for original customers who were explicitly promised a free PC seems clearer, perhaps more recent sign-ups should check that Redten/Clode's failings on other aspects of the contract releases them from their obligations with regard to the equipment, too (though in my view if customers are still liable for this, they should be offering the option of returning the equipment at no charge).
Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree here, and if so, I apologise - maybe someone here is more clued up and can clarify this? I'm certainly not intending to muddy the waters.

Looking at those invoices, Redten have pulled a bit of a fast one there I think. Note who the invoice is made out to - V12, Sell to/ship to - is us.
Is this a loophole? It would certainly explain why Clode believe the PC's where part of the deal.
My brain hurts!!!!!!0 -

We all should be finding it easy and affordable as it should be FREE RedTen, that's why we signed up to you so that we can have top speed (where available) unlimited downloads....does discount = FREE RedTen????0 -
Only offer I'll be accepting is the one where I pay nothing and the account gets cancelled - if they want the P.O.S PC back they're welcome to it :rotfl:
Already sent my warning letters, and then another stating that I had cancelled all payments to the account pending resolution of the problem.
Get your suits on chaps, we'll be in court before you know it.......0 -
would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued patience relating to the recent disruption of your Redten service.
We can confirm that the transfer of service to the new provider NJP is now complete.
We remain confident that Redten are capable of providing your broadband connection as per your contractual arrangements and we are currently working closely with them to ensure that your complaint is resolved.
However, we acknowledge that you are dissatisfied with your service and we are conscious that you may have lost faith in Redten and we therefore wish to present you with an option to settle your account at a reduced rate.
Under your agreement with us you have purchased both hardware equipment and broadband service over an agreed period however if you choose to take up the offer below the equipment will be yours to keep, the broadband service will be terminated and your account closed (and no further direct debits will be due).
Your current loan balance is £402.69 with 31 payments of £12.99 remaining due under the contract however we will accept a payment of £30.69 in full and final settlement of your account.
This equates to a rebate of £12 per month for the remainder of your contract term. In line with the current market this is sufficient to cover the cost of an alternative broadband product from a supplier of your choice.
If you do wish to accept this offer please contact our customer services on 0844 844 4700 prior to 2nd May 2008 to make a single payment by Debit Card. Please ensure you quote reference 'Redten Offer'. Alternatively you can write to Customer Relations at the above address with a cheque for the settlement amount made payable to Clode Retail Finance.
I would stress that you are no obligation to take up this offer and if you choose not to do this the Redten will continue to provide your contracted service to the end of your contracted period and you will remain liable for the monthly loan repayments due to Clode under the existing finance agreement.
Please note that your finance agreement can only be cancelled by us and cannot be agreed with any other party including Redten Communications Ltd.
Yours Sincerely
Customer Services
Clode Retail Finance
What to do????????????????
I'm going to phone them about the MAC code before considering the offer of £30. There is still a big part of me that thinks I would be letting the side down, I know there is principal involved here and that I shouldn't be paying anything for the free PC, but the fact is that I could be free from these cowboys for the same price as the phone calls that will be required to resolve this mess.0 -
MyUserNamesTaken wrote: »jeff - if NJP try to charge you for the extra 14gigs of usage, refuse to pay. After all, you are paying for unlimited broadband. If NJP want extra money, they can get it from Redten. You have no contract with NJP - your contract is with Redten. Thus, it's up to Redten to pay any additional costs for your usage, as they are contractually obligated to provide you with unlimited broadband.
no way am i paying them a penny.0 -
Still not got an email, im gonna call them later0

Just spoke to Clode who were very cautious before answering my questions, I was put on hold at least Five times. Eventually I was told that if I take the offer it will be approximately 7 days before receiving a MAC...they did say I wouldn't lose my connection until I have my code.
Please let me know if anyone else hears anything different?0
