Hope I get same offer - £12 to find alternative supply sounds good to me - I've got around 28 or 29 payments to go.
    £12.99 -£12 = £0.99 times 29 months - thats less than £30 to be free of redten.
    Nothing in my Inbox yet.

Got my Email as well £219.80 to exit,

See they have not committed to when/if Redten can supply unlimited, just that they are confident that they are capable of supplying what we contracted for.

No way am I accepting this.

    And here's mine.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued patience relating to the recent disruption of your Redten service.

We can confirm that the transfer of service to the new provider NJP is now complete.

We remain confident that Redten are capable of providing your broadband connection as per your contractual arrangements and we are currently working closely with them to ensure that your complaint is resolved.

However, we acknowledge that you are dissatisfied with your service and we are conscious that you may have lost faith in Redten and we therefore wish to present you with an option to settle your account at a reduced rate.

Under your agreement with us you have purchased both hardware equipment and broadband service over an agreed period however if you choose to take up the offer below the equipment will be yours to keep, the broadband service will be terminated and your account closed (and no further direct debits will be due).

Your current loan balance is £399.8 with 20 payments of £19.99 remaining due under the contract however we will accept a payment of £159.8 in full and final settlement of your account.

This equates to a rebate of £12 per month for the remainder of your contract term. In line with the current market this is sufficient to cover the cost of an alternative broadband product from a supplier of your choice.

If you do wish to accept this offer please contact our customer services on 0844 844 4700 prior to 2nd May 2008 to make a single payment by Debit Card. Please ensure you quote reference ‘Redten Offer’. Alternatively you can write to Customer Relations at the above address with a cheque for the settlement amount made payable to Clode Retail Finance.

I would stress that you are no obligation to take up this offer and if you choose not to do this the Redten will continue to provide your contracted service to the end of your contracted period and you will remain liable for the monthly loan repayments due to Clode under the existing finance agreement. i_safe.gif

Please note that your finance agreement can only be cancelled by us and cannot be agreed with any other party including Redten Communications Ltd.

    Yours Sincerely
    Customer Services
    Clode Retail Finance

I have not received my "offer" yet, but I hope they are going to be more realistic than they have been up to now, the equipment was "free", it is not worth anything like the money they are asking for and they have not taken into account the money people have spent due to Redtens breach of contract, or the stress it has placed on people.
Come on Clode get real, we know you are a business and are looking to minimise losses but that is your problem, just release us from our contracts, and save yourselves a fortune in court fees, bear in mind the fate of the banks, whilst not finished yet looks like they may take a very large hit through bad business practices!!

Note that they want acceptance by 2nd May. That implies trying to rush us into making a hasty decision and not giving us a 'reasonable' period in which to respond!

Perhaps they're hoping that we fall for it.
I think it's a clear admission of liability and if we hold firm, they'll have to meet their legal obligations and release us without penalty.

  • Please no one rush into this. They havent given us enough time to think over this offer. 5 days is not enough. The email does mean that have accepted liability though.

I wonder why they think £12 is enough to get unlimited broadband. I'm with BT and pay £24.99

They Also forget the PC was "FREE" and a carrot on a stick. We are in a better position to take this further now.

I agree they have done this so people will rush into this pay the final figure and run off. I for one am happy to help anyone out with the courts. Can we join together and make one big submission to the courts?

My main concern is for those on benefits who cant afford to take the option of a settlement
