That's what he is going to offer you. Basically, it would be like moving over to TalkTalk (line rental, calls and ADSL) and paying the same as other Talktalk customers, except you'd still have to pay Clode on top. So you'd be worse off than other Talktalk customers, as they'd only be paying £16 a month for their line rental/calls and ADSL, whereas you'd be making your payments to Clode, plus the extra £16 per month. What it really means is that you're paying for the PC, as ADSL is free if you transfer your line rental and calls over to Talktalk (the £16 is for line rental and calls).
They definitely said a deal "on the equipment" though. If he did offer either the above or an equipment deal they can still swing for it. Either unlimited internet @ £19.99 pm payable to Clode or they are in breach of contract and I want my MAC0 -
I don't think we should be doing deals for a 'free PC'. It's basic contract law that once part of a contract is broken, it is null and void.
In otherwords, they can't cherry pick, break some parts of the contract and expect to enforce or for us to pay to be released by other parts of the contract.Likewise, they can't expect us to pay extra, so that they can carry on meeting their obligations to supply us with unlimited broadband.
Be very careful on what you agree to. Remember, we have done nothing wrong thus far. We were quite happy to fulfil our part of the bargain! Why should we have to pay any more to sort out their mess!Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

I agree! I'll be asking for a full refund of monies paid to clode, we have not done anything wrong. redten moved the goal posts. we need a test case! Either FOS or small claims court. There are CCA 1974 Cases where poeple have had full amount plus costs refunded. Enough to buy a modern PC.
Im not bothered about PC. I was offered a deal to keep PC for £200 or send PC back for £150.
I shall seek an end to this that I agree with not them.
The PC was the carrot! Why should we be at a loss, as these *****
changed the service. I call that corporate abuse, we have had the piracy thing shoved infront of us. You should all be writing to clode telling them that is unjust and defamatory.
Like I said, we've done nothing wrong.
Why should we bail them out.0 -
If none of this crap had happened, I'd have been perfectly happy paying £19.99 per month for another 18 months and seeing my contract through. If they in in financial difficulties, then that's due to circumstances beyond my control and within theirs. Redten's days are numbered anyway, as I doubt they're exactly beating a path to their front door (wherever that may be) due to new punters desperate to sign up.

I hate that this is becoming a long drawn out process. I just want my unlimited downloads back whether its with them or another provider. Nothing on telly this weekend and could be taking advantage of the VOD through my xbox 360 or PC if I wasnt too scared to use up my precious monthly bandwith.
Reading through this forum and making phone calls are taking up far too much of my life with no real results.0 -

I totally agree. I'm going to contact the FSA to see if they have any jurisdiction in this matter. Once I've dealt with Clode, I can tell RT exactly where to go.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

This is my reply to Clode letter recived this friday: Do you think i am being to soft?
Following from your recent reply to my complaint, your letter dated 07 April 2008 regrettably failed to address the problems I have mentioned in my original letter of complaint. Your letter which is written for mass reply ridiculously ends up stating that the matter is now resolved, considering that this is my complaint it should end resolved when I am happy with the result.
As I am receiving a limited broadband service instead of the unlimited one, what I signed up for and still paying for, this matter is not resolved.
As far as I am concerned Redten has breached the contract numerous times, mentioned in my original letter, and you are jointly responsible for it.
Due to the following:
1-Failure to give me notice of the contract change and its details and allowing me the opportunity to reject it.
2-Failure to notify me of my consumer protection rights at the time of the change.
3-Providing a lesser and degraded service.
4-Instituting a cap and blockage on my broadband connection and access when my contract was for unlimited and uncapped service.
5-Failing to provide me with a service for 10 days in march following their application of a cap on the service.
6-Failing to provide any information on any of Redten proposed changes yet giving public statements to the press which outline a detrimental service.
7-Failing to provide reasonable duty and care in the provision of a service.
I am giving you 10 working days notice to terminate my contract without any penalty, arrange for pickup of the laptop provided as part of the agreement and provide me with a migration code MAC. Send written confirmation to myself of the ending of this agreement without any financial penalty, inconvenience & adverse credit rating effect to myself. Should this not be forthcoming, I will be left with no option but to escalate the matter through the proper channels.

Seems fair enough to me but I see another 10 days and then another standard letter coming your way.
Considering clode say they have a "team" set up to deal with the redten situation but we are unable to speak to them....what exactly are they doing apart from printing the standard letter and sealing it in an envelope?
Me Thinks "RedTen Team" = Work Experience Kids0 -
And I still dont understand how RedTen can operate without an ADR. Surely this should be enough to get them shutdown or nulify the contract since it is a legal requirement that they subscribe to this.0
