I just got though to Redten. Explained my situation and was told that I would have new connection details in three working days. The person on the phone was very nice and helpful.
    Heres hoping!

    =======================================

I had left the company board on 9th July 2007.
The business of Redten was sold there-after and new management took control in September 2007.

Thank you for being a one of the first Redten Internet Customer whilst I was still with the the busines and apologies for the inconvenenace you are having to endure. In support of some of our old Customers as well as some friends who use Redten service, I have been in contact with the current MD and seek asistance on their behalf

Not sure, but he did seem to be sympathetic.

@essex - my secret weapon too!! I spoke to Shiraz last night too after cc'ing him in on an email I sent to everyone invovled. He sent my details to the current MD too - I was one of the first redten customers (Nov 2006) so I am hoping his intervention will assist.

Hi just been on to FO they cant do anything for anyone who took out deals with clode before April 2007
Clode are not regulated by anyone, so no help there. Just got the standard letter back from clode saying that the find the matter closed ( please some one tell me thats a joke ) Solicitor doesnt want to take the case as he says its to messy and could cost me a small fortune.
None of the so called reg bodies ie offcm etc want to know. So as from today I have canccelled the direct debit to clode and will be with talk talk from tomorow. I for one will be glad to be taken to court by Clode as I shall make sure it is in all the papers and at least local radio.
We all need to make a stance, if everyone cancelled the DD then things would come to a head very quickly.

Spoke to my solicitor this morning, and he has confirmed that Redten are in breach of contract as they have degraded our service and changed T&C without notice. I am not prepared to divulge the strategy here as this site is monitored by both Clode and Redten, but suffice to say things are progressing, just remember to keep all of your receipts, phone bills etc. as these could be possible to recoup.
Also check your house insurance to see if you have legal cover, an awful lot of policies do.
I have also reported back to OFCOM this morning as it is now 7 days since RT signed for my letter requesting a MAC code, will make a new complaint to redten on a daily basis and inform OFCOM of the outcome.

a copy of my email to RT is below

It is now 7 working days since you signed for my recorded delivery letter concerning the breach of our contract, in that letter I asked for you to terminate our contract and to supply me with a MAC code. As you are aware you are obliged by law to provide a MAC code within 5 working days of receiving a request, having already spoken to OFCOM 9/04/08 and I have been advised to inform them if no MAC code has been received, and to lodge a separate complaint with them regarding this matter. I have duly informed them of the situation today and shall continue to do so on a daily basis should this be necessary.
I have also spoken to my solicitor today who has confirmed that you are in breach of contract, and advised me to forward copies of all correspondence to him, for examination and to keep him informed of developments.
I have also spoken with NJP services who have advised me that you are capable of generating the said MAC code yourselves, and I have also advised Clode Retail Finance of this further breach of legal requirements.
I await your very early reply to any one (or more) of the following:

I have included my home phone, 2 mobile numbers and 3 email addresses, so they have no excuse not to contact me.

A number of people have asked about making a donation to help run the http://www.deadten.com site. I'm not interested in that at all. But if you do want to help then I support a local Charity called Spirit of the Dog who are crying out for funds.
