I have been following this forum from day one, I would have been lost with out all the information. First recorded letter sent 25/03/08 to all addresses, no reply from any. Second and final letter going recorded in the morning. I will not stay with REDTEN and be lied too and treated like a fool. I require a Mac code and account with clode finished.

Just wandering when the contract expires on 11/04/08. Will they cancel the whole contract including the finance agreement if decide to cancel? Has anyone heard anything?

Going on past performance of RT and CLODE I do not believe they will let you cancel anything, where did the 1 month contract come from ? there never was one, and there is no chance that they would cancel your finance agreement without a fight.
If the cancel function does work they will probably just stop your net access and still not give mac to go else wareWho cares ??0 -
sounds like i will be making some calls before i click any cancellation buttons then!!!
I should go and pay em a visit, clodes office is only 25 miles away from me!!!0 -
fercrisake wrote: »Hi Hugo,
Sent mine on Friday 4th April signed for on 7th.
Address was 23 Castalia Square, London, E14 3NG.
The Finway address is their Customer Services - It's no real surprise that there's no-one at that address given their legendary customer service!:rotfl:
Hiya fercrisake
Of the 4 letters sent to REDTEN various addresses,
1 has been returned - Finway, Luton
2 have no conformation as yet
and 1 to Dockland has been accepted on 4/4/08
Clode accepted letter on 4/4/08
NJP accepted letter on 4/4/08
So ALL parties have been duly informed by RD, that I will not tollerate their derisory level of service and do not accept their new T&Cs and I'm therefore looking now forward to receiving my MAC and a cancelled account.
Have been away today so only checked back on here tonight, same tomorrow
BUT I will find time to call Baber to re-request my MAC
Redten is Dead, long live Redten

No disrespect to BJM, but I wonder if BG was spinning him a yarn and a different one to Clode, just to cause more confusion and buy them some more time - divide & conquer and all that.
I'm not doing anything further until I see something concrete from either RT or Clode. Thus far, I have received no letters and no emails. I think the mists will clear over the next week regarding RTs intentions and their consequences to us. I will then unleash hell on them.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Sorry everyone, for seeming to is appear but have been trawling the net looking for a supplier to migrate to. In my neck of the woods there's not much choice, and wanted to make sure I could migrate by the 16.4.2008 which is the date given for my cancellation.
Suffice to say I am now with BT --such helpful customer service at night --
5 days. I am unlimited, with 8m/s ( all I can get at the moment ) at 18.99 for 18 months. Same as redten was but with free phone calls thrown in.
No set up charge and the hub thing thrown in as well. I am not recommending them as I don't know what they are like, but they don't charge or cut off for limited users only warn you for one or two months and if you're consistently over the limit, they suggest you up grade to next package.
I only had choice of BT and non networked orange or Talk Talk and maybe Tiscali or one or two local small companies no-one has heard of and gave them a body swerve for obvious reasons. Once bitten and all that.
Its a real bind changing suppliers when you never expected to. I fully thought I would remain with redten for he whole 3 years.
I have read through the posts and my views have not changed.
The 30 days until the 11.4.2008 is something of a trial period and if you have not objected to being moved from BT to NJP and losing the main parts of your service already, and if you have not done it in writing before the 11.4.2008 and said that you do not accept the changes to your contract and that they amount to an ending of that contract, it could be interpreted that you are happy or at least not averse to the service with NJP and will continue with them as you would with a normal signing up.
All ISP now give you that 30 day cooling off period. Some give you longer, I think o2 are still giving a hundred days.
If that is your position then, you must at least put it in writing and keep all evidence of the changes, notes re levels etc, and put it in writing to the registered Company's house address which for redten is 23 Castalia Square London.
This is an accommodation address for businesses like redten; and was used by them in 2005. They then moved the registered address to Finway in Luton in 2006 to start up the ISP business. Following the collapse of Watford et al, they then moved the redten company registered address back to 23 Castalia Square London. Later that year they mortgaged all of redten to Online Distribution in Luton.
I have always maintained that my contract was broken by redten and Clode jointly on the 10.3.2008. I have always maintained that that break was not repudiated by redten or by Clode. When redten failed to mend the contract, I gave Clode the opportunity to mend it as they were jointly and severally liable for that contract.
My first complaint went in via email on the 11.3.2008 and my last written complaint went via email on the 8.4.2008. All of my letters were recorded, signed for and delivered bar one, to the sole Director recorded at Companies House, Mr B Gulzar at the Luton address. I sent all letters to all 3 recorded addresses for redten. Not one was responded to in writing. I have sent written complaints to each and every statutory body reporting both redten and NJP for breaches of the Communications Act, the Sale of Goods Act, the Consumer Credit Act, the Data Protection Act. I have raised questions with the DTI , now under BERR on the consumer credit licence responsibilities of redten and the position of directors holding both director and secretary positions in a company.
I have positively y hounded OFCOM on a daily basis asking to speak to the team leader and recording every refusal to give me a mac code as a separate incident. Must be about 10 of those alone.
I have written to my MP to find out what is going on and why this company has seemed to be above the law in their omissions. I have recorded every phone call, the date and time and the content of that call.
I have tried to outline here what I thought needed to be done to pursue this company and also NJP for their failings. For they have them as well. They have you on a 30 day account and you are entitled to get a mac code from them.
It is hard work and time-consuming. I have no fear of them now trying not to honour the ending of my contract, which is the 16.4.2008 and I expect confirmation following that date from Clode.
If by chance, that does not happen, my actions are as before. I shall first of all go to the Financial Services Ombudsman and thence to the County Court.
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am persistent, dogged and determined, when I am being treated like a fool, as I have been by this company. And I shall do it before they have a chance to avoid their responsibilities altogether.
I am not so concerned about Clode as they will have insurance to make good their losses , if any.
I shall not be going away at all until this is ended.
I am taking some time off though as quite exhausted dealing with procrastinating officialdom.
I will look in and see how things are progressing.
There are not so many of us as cannot be sorted properly. Indeed we are almost a fairly unique group.
So be persistent and insistant on your rights.
And you know the old saying " Don't let the B*****grind you down "

yes, ive written letters to redten/clode but with heaps of kids here im rapidly running out of gbs, have you heard any good/bad of sky
If youve got sky tv already then i think you cant go wrong, ive got there top package £10 a month and so far has been superb ,there customer service is excellent and you get a free wireless router with the top packages.
And its truly UNLIMITED
I suppose a good bit of advice is dont go to the new two bit company promising the world and you should be ok .
Anything included free has to be paid for somewhere along the line .0 -

I think if your out of the contract you can't also expect a refund. The money we pay is for the broadband connection which, up until a month ago, noe seemed to have any problems with. I expect the most you could claim would be one month's payment, but is it worth it?
It would be a different matter if you had paid upfront though.I know a great broadband provider.....I just can't move to them:eek:0
