    Essex,
Is it possible for you to put a list on DEADTEN to show who has succsess at getting thier MAC and ending the contract plus who is still waiting.

    Ron.
More than happy to do this, Only people I know who have had success are Firstclassidiot and benjimoron
If people want to send me a personal message or email me via deadten. I'll only list forum names or if worried about that just list AUser etc.
    Thanks

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
It strikes me that with the exception of Benjimoron, these other folks who have successfully managed to cancel and get their MAC codes are still in the dark about where they stand with the Clode agreement.
Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

  • Hi guys,

I understand that you're frustrated with your situation and I'm doing my best to come up with some answers but as our weekly email takes priority, I haven't had as much time as I'd like to dedicate to this. Hopefully I will have some news by the end of the week.

Many thanks to Benji for continuing to pursue Redten

This doesn't however change a thing as far as I am concerned: Redten have still breached the terms of their own contract and numerous consumer laws. The new package that is allegedly being put together is still not what I am paying for, and will not be suitable for my needs in any case.

My recorded-delivery letters were received last week - they have until the end of the time stipulated within to release me from the finance agreement, or else I commence legal proceedings. If they want their PC back, they're more than welcome to it.

Those of you that are happy to switch to the new deal, all the best to you. But those who aren't: stick to your guns, and don't let them get away with it!! :T

    I agree.
Somehow Benji has managed to do what none of us have managed, not even Clode if their latest letters are anything to go by, get some sort of acknowledgement from Redten that they cannot afford to deliver on our contracts and are trying to broker a new deal.
Seems a bit odd to me that Benji is talking to the CE of Redten when Clode top brass say they find him difficult to contact, perhaps it's because he's always talking to Benji.
Either way, I won't believe anything until I get it in writing, and will continue to pursue Clode for restoration of the service I am paying them for.
If Redten do actually make the offer, I will turn it down. If they cannot afford to honour my contract, I want it terminated and Clode informed. If Clode cannot replace it with an equivalent package for the remainder of the contract period (PC and unlimited broadband, subject to FUP, not unilateral capping), I will deem them in breach and expect them to cancel my finance contract.
I am perfectly capable of finding my own less expensive deal, or choosing to spend an equivalent ammount on a truly unlimited connection.
Don't get foooled into thinking we owe these people any favours just because they have begun to come clean. If it was you or I who suddenly discovered that we could not maintain our comittments, e.g. due to illness or redundancy, how do you think Clode or Redten would have responded if you just stopped paying without saying anything to them and then, after they had sent you recorded delivery letters, you explained that you just could not afford it any more?
