so what is the real postal address for redten?
has anyone got any replies on recorded deliveries?
The address for Redten is 23 Castalia Square, Docklands, London E14 3NG, and to answer your query I have spoken to Royal mail this morning, and was advised that if there are lots of Recerded Delivery letters to an address, they are put into a sealed bag along with a received receipt which the person to whom the letters were delivered has to sign and return, if after 15 days there has been no reply then RM will investigate. So RT have most likely received but not returned yet.
Hope this helps

Benji, please stop trying to detract attention away from Redten. It really would seem that you are trying to focus people's anger towards MSE and Martin Lewis, and away from Redten now. Like I said earlier, it is not the function of this website to fight battles such as this. When you consider how many people are members of MSE and add to that those who aren't members, but receive the newsletter, the people affected by the Redten fiasco is tiny. We're going through a credit crunch right now, and many people are suffering as a result of this. Those people are facing repossession, etc. They are the ones this site is now focusing on and trying to help, as they are the ones most at risk of losing everything. Obviously, they are not the only ones this site is here to help, but you've got to get this into perspective.
Martin has said he has a member of his team looking into this. So what if they haven't contacted you? You got the phone number for the guy you've been talking to from this very thread - it was posted on here for anyone to ring and speak to him. He's not the only director, either. You don't know for certain what MSE has done in relation to this, other than that they haven't spoken to you (you're an ex-customer, so why would they?), and that you've been told by that guy that they haven't contacted Redten. You don't know anything other than what you've been told by a Redten director, and now you're posting it as gospel truth. What you are doing, and it would appear that it is intentional, is diverting the anger correctly directed at Redten onto Martin and MSE staff. Sorry, but Redten are the ones in the wrong here, and the "deal" you've come on here telling everyone about is no deal at all. To think that all these people will find their connections being disrupted again whilst they are moved over to yet another backbone provider, and with the added insult of being told that to do this they must now sign and pay for a line rental agreement, is disgusting.TalkTalk offer free broadband with line rental and calls included for £16 a month (or thereabouts). What is being offered by Redten now seems to be a move to TalkTalk on that same package, pay the £16 a month and still have to pay money to Clode as well. So, they will be paying more than TalkTalk customers overall in that they are still paying Clode. Redten dumps them as broadband customers, yet still manages to get them to pay Clode. Nice one, I don't think! Redten customers are worse off than their TalkTalk counterparts. They get the same as their TalkTalk counterparts, but are paying a whole lot more in the repayments to Clode. Seems like they are paying for that "free" computer after all.
Verry well put and 100% correct thank youWho cares ??0 -
thank you for that clarification.
there is a lot of misleading information being fed onto this site, unfortunately.
and you are right. the numbers involved are tiny compared to those who were effected by the credit charges for example. So tiny, in fact, it is probably why the press have shown no great interest.
thank you again for some clearheaded common sense.

well if thats the case i cannot afford to even get a mac and go elsewhere and pay two my fianances leave me just over 24 pound a week to live on after all my bills (including the clode one!!) that 24 pound has to feed and clothe me and feed my dog and keep my car running pay an extra 16 a month i should not think so !!! none of the proposed new deals or what ever are going to be for me so please let me go stop costing me money i need to live on and if you insist on these new deals ill have no internet because i cant pay no more and cant afford to buy myself out of clode agreement wish i had never changed from freedom to surf for these people i have benefitted nothing in this deal only misery and hardship thanks redten !!! now ask why i want to leave without all the fuss of courts and stuff just let me go and hey throw in the not working properly pc as from early this year it cant possibly have no value to you now ! plus it would make me go away thinking at least i have got something for my troubled time ive now had from you...
That's what you need to get across to Redten...and they are reading this. Who do you think Loaded it? Take a look at Loaded's posts since Benji came back and posted about his "news". Notice how Loaded is backing Benji 100%. Also notice how Loaded joined and started posting to this thread just before Benji's big announcement. Do you really think it's a co-incidence?
Mac0, sign up for 1899.com. It's free to sign up, but you will need to give bank details. It will allow you to ring that 0208 number for free (think there maybe a 3p connection charge, but it's better than paying god knows how much on phone calls to their other numbers). Once you've signed up and had your account confirmed, make sure you use the 1899 prefix before dialing their 0208 number. So, ring 18990208....... Hope that helps. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Hi everyone. Like a large number of folk, I'm sure, I have been following the posts on this forum ever since the initial Redten debacle on March 10th without posting my own comments. Thanks to all contributors for their advice and sharing their own experiences with this joke of an ISP - hopefully, this will work itself out for all the disgruntled Redten customers, although I don't hold out much hope that this will be in the near future...
I was unfortunate to sign up to Redten Unlimited in January 2008 (RBB100108**) on the £17.99 a month package, for which I was promised a Toshiba laptop to be included (my Dad had signed up to Redten about a year earlier and although it took a lot of calls to Tariq, he eventually got his (admittedly, not brilliant but ok for a second PC) laptop and had a pretty solid broadband service since. I seem to differ from the majority of posters on here in that I never did receive my laptop or router (and don't expect to now). However, I did pay my £49.99 DEPOSIT. Since my activation on 18th January 2008, I have not had any payments taken by V12/Clode. My understanding is that V12/Clode do not start taking the payments until the equipment is provided.
Can anyone advise as to whether I have a better standing in that my package was for the broadband and laptop and have not received it?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I should have realised when my Redten connection was due to be transferred on 18th January 2008 and had not been sent out my log in details for my router! I had to phone 'Scott' @ Redten for them and my letter followed approx 1 month later - what a professional outift!0 -

Under the sale of goods and services act you should get a total refund. They have failed to provide them.
Write and ask them for it.

Thanks for the quick responses!
I have e-mailed Redten several times and asked for a MAC code - but, surprise surprise, no response...
I have tried phoning Redten, but given I have a full time job, have not managed to phone at a time when I can get through/when they actually feel like answering...
I have e-mailed V12/Clode and they have forwarded my cto their customer relations department, but again no responses from anyone so far.
I will write letters to both in the hope that somebody responds.
In response to one of Luvredten's (I think) earlier posts, my service since being reconnected via NJP has been fine, a slight speed increase from before, and I agree that the 15GB cap will be sufficient for a lot of users - but I am not one of the lighter users and even if I was, I wouldn't want to pay for a service I could get cheaper elsewhere.
For all customers paying above £16.95 per month (where they received their 'free' computer), surely the quoted price for the 'Redten Max' package (being the £16.95 per month) leaves you short changed??? Redten are obviously taking an even nicer cut off your monthly payment now.0 -
Anyone got any good recommendations for unlimited ISP's for when we can eventually change.
Seen this but not sure http://www.eclipse.net.uk/index.cfm?id=fixedcomparison_res
BE Unlimited looked interesting but don't cover my area or 02.
