I was with eclipse a few years back, provided a very good service, all be it at the time quite expensive.
I have also not received a printer that I have paid for in full. I have emailed both Redten (in January, who replied saying they had run out of stock and would inform me when new stock comes in and send it out, as which I never got either) and Clode, had no responses since. Cost me £79.99 and still have the order invoice to prove but no printer, had to purchase my own. Any advice on what I should do?0 -

Hello everyone joy of joys!!!
Have received cancellation of my contract, and my mac code.
cancellation effect 16.4.2008 --mac code now.
1) emailed redten at sales@
2) pestered clode to contact redten
3) phoned 0208 810 5244 after 1pm they seem to be there, pested paul.
4) got contract cancelled from 16.4.2008
5) pushed for today for email and mac --waited til 30 mins after email and phoned number for NJP and pushed for mac,
6) paul from redten actually phoned me back with mac.

In response to one of Luvredten's (I think) earlier posts, my service since being reconnected via NJP has been fine, a slight speed increase from before, and I agree that the 15GB cap will be sufficient for a lot of users - but I am not one of the lighter users and even if I was, I wouldn't want to pay for a service I could get cheaper elsewhere.
For all customers paying above £16.95 per month (where they received their 'free' computer), surely the quoted price for the 'Redten Max' package (being the £16.95 per month) leaves you short changed??? Redten are obviously taking an even nicer cut off your monthly payment now.
I was in a very similar situation to you (signed up Dec '07 - RBB 100107**) but never received laptops or router. Was lied to time after time after time by Redten about it being on it's way, delayed at the warehouse etc, before they finally admitted they had no stock and couldn't fulfil their end of the contract and were terminating it. I only found this out because I rang endlessly - they never made any contact with me themselves.
I emailed Clode to explain, and they put a 'hold' on my account, but it was 3 weeks later (and more phone calls) before Redten informed them of the contract cancellation. In the meantime, I got trapped by the walled garden, and when I tried to use my BT MAC code, it was rejected as NJP had got there first. Despite me no longer being a Redten customer, the incompetent fools had sent them my account details. It took a lot more effort, and huge frustration, to finally get a code and get away. I got it by ringing Murphx, explaining I wasn't a customer and wasn't paying anything, and they got in touch with NJP, who got a MAC code out of Redten somehow (thumbscrews, water torture, I know not and care even less) that same day.
Happy now with a new provider, however, I have tried 5 times to get my £49.99 deposit back to no avail - RD letters, faxes, emails, phone calls. "The cheque's in the post" has actually been used on 2 occasions, without them thinking that was even vaguely ironic. Presumably it's in the same postal/delivery system as my mythical laptops and router were all those weeks.
I'm at a loss now where to go. I can't see it being worth going to small claims for the £49.99, but it sticks in my craw that these crooks might get away with my money, especially after all the enormous stress, huge telephone bills and the endless frustration. Good luck, and I'll let you know if I get anywhere.0 -
