Good luck mate! Fingers crossed for you and all who are trying to get redten to close their accounts/issue macs etc.

    See my edit above.

No hold music as I got through on the 0208 number - not going to bother with the other from now on.. lets see if I get a call back.

Just gone to the njp/fast4/redten site where you can check all your details, clicked on the cancel account part and got this:
    redtennjp.jpg

Anyone else get this too or is it because ive had the email telling me they are closing my account? Just a thought!
Because I used to get this:

still that for me!!! You are currently in contract. This is due to expire on 11 April 2008. After that date you will be able to gain access to this option.

If you believe that this information is incorrect please call customer services

Same for me Mac - still in contract. Although now I feel I am making SLIGHT progress with Redten Im hopeful of a resolution.

Weird thing was in hindsight that I was all set up for an argument with them about breach of contract but that was never even mentioned - just that the manager would call me back - maybe then Ill be having the aforementioned rumble :)

Also when they answered the phone with their usual "hello" - I asked if it was Redten, the guy sighed and said. "yeah". Im sure that is one hell of a job when the company is in the state it is in.

Has anyone thought to ask why Clode sent that email as when we tackle them about anything to do with the braodband - they reply 'we don't have anything to do with the broadband, you must speak to Redten/NJP about that'.

It seems that Redten cannot even issue simple emails now. By the way the Clode email was sent to my pre-redten email address, Redten certainly have done a great job in keeping all those involved up to date with current info!!!!!

You need to go to the NJP site and use your account number and password that they sent out.
You have to write to them and use recorded delivery, to have any chance of getting out of the contract.
Template letters can be found on http://www.deadten.com

I thought someone had pointed out that he was on just yesterday?

Is the member of the team who is looking into it off as well?

So what if he was on? He's not working. I'm sure you still browse the internet when you're off work on holiday? He's not taking an active role for the week. The man's entitled to a holiday.

Benji, please stop trying to detract attention away from Redten. It really would seem that you are trying to focus people's anger towards MSE and Martin Lewis, and away from Redten now. Like I said earlier, it is not the function of this website to fight battles such as this. When you consider how many people are members of MSE and add to that those who aren't members, but receive the newsletter, the people affected by the Redten fiasco is tiny. We're going through a credit crunch right now, and many people are suffering as a result of this. Those people are facing repossession, etc. They are the ones this site is now focusing on and trying to help, as they are the ones most at risk of losing everything. Obviously, they are not the only ones this site is here to help, but you've got to get this into perspective.

Martin has said he has a member of his team looking into this. So what if they haven't contacted you? You got the phone number for the guy you've been talking to from this very thread - it was posted on here for anyone to ring and speak to him. He's not the only director, either. You don't know for certain what MSE has done in relation to this, other than that they haven't spoken to you (you're an ex-customer, so why would they?), and that you've been told by that guy that they haven't contacted Redten. You don't know anything other than what you've been told by a Redten director, and now you're posting it as gospel truth. What you are doing, and it would appear that it is intentional, is diverting the anger correctly directed at Redten onto Martin and MSE staff. Sorry, but Redten are the ones in the wrong here, and the "deal" you've come on here telling everyone about is no deal at all. To think that all these people will find their connections being disrupted again whilst they are moved over to yet another backbone provider, and with the added insult of being told that to do this they must now sign and pay for a line rental agreement, is disgusting.TalkTalk offer free broadband with line rental and calls included for £16 a month (or thereabouts). What is being offered by Redten now seems to be a move to TalkTalk on that same package, pay the £16 a month and still have to pay money to Clode as well. So, they will be paying more than TalkTalk customers overall in that they are still paying Clode. Redten dumps them as broadband customers, yet still manages to get them to pay Clode. Nice one, I don't think! Redten customers are worse off than their TalkTalk counterparts. They get the same as their TalkTalk counterparts, but are paying a whole lot more in the repayments to Clode. Seems like they are paying for that "free" computer after all.
