Yeah, thanks Benji! You've managed to do what, AFAIK, nobody else has... get some real words out of Redten. Shame their words are a load of old... boll... shi.... cr.... um, tripe!

I'm one of the lucky few that managed to switch my ISP - after giving RT 10 whole days to switch me over I may add. Redten then ignored my reasonable question of "I want to cancel my account. What's the way to do this?" questions. Because of that they now both have RD letters stating their breach of contract and my request to get out free. If / when these get ignored there's not much option left to me but to bring in my lawyer and look to reclaim costs as well as cancelling the contract. I'm not alone by the sounds of things. So, Redten, deal with your disgruntled customers now before it goes any further. The more you mess us around the more we'll look for in compensation. Can't spell it out any clearer than that!
  • Martin's not even about right now. He's actually got the week off. (Was in this week's email).

I thought someone had pointed out that he was on just yesterday?

Is the member of the team who is looking into it off as well?

Many thanks to Benji for continuing to pursue Redten

This doesn't however change a thing as far as I am concerned: Redten have still breached the terms of their own contract and numerous consumer laws. The new package that is allegedly being put together is still not what I am paying for, and will not be suitable for my needs in any case.

My recorded-delivery letters were received last week - they have until the end of the time stipulated within to release me from the finance agreement, or else I commence legal proceedings. If they want their PC back, they're more than welcome to it.

Those of you that are happy to switch to the new deal, all the best to you. But those who aren't: stick to your guns, and don't let them get away with it!! :T
  • Lets just clarify what has been accomplished here.

Last night Clode, via managing director, was still saying that the redten positio is that the lack of bandwidth is because of checking for copy write blah blah , bland letter that some have recieved by email. Letters went out yesteday and the day before with the same message,to those that wrote in to Clode complaining and demanding that the termination of contract by redten was substantial.

The phone numbers for redten are this morning unmanned and have been so for the period of 2 and one half hours since this morning. The sales number is unmanned and not answering and the London forwarding number is unmanned and not answering.

    Clode cannot contact redten
    NJP servics cannot contact redten

Redten has issued no statements or press releases in their name anout the position.

I have asked by letter, email and phone for one month for a mac code and have had no respponse from redten --if you have a current cntract with them and clode, you will not get a mac code from NJP ( this has been the insruction to NJP )

I have coonducted the business I have with redten correctly, formally , in writing and within coontract; I have paid on time every time in accordance with the contract.

This has not been the case by redten or their partners.

Tell me again Benjimoron how the position has changed and what you have achieved?

I apologise if you don't appreciate my efforts, I have been able to get some info that no one else has posted so I thought I would post it.

    Next time I won't bother.

I am struggling to figure out what action led to the agreeing to cancel our contract, if I figure out just what it was I will post back on here. We may have got rid of the bondage of Redten but this is not a final end for us, we are still going after them via the small courts for money lost and the loss of service which we had paid for.
Redten have stated they are ending our contract but i am not sure whether this includes the clode aspect, however we have cancelled the direct debit and have written to them to explain that all money (due/undue) is on hold as we are now in a position to dispute the fact that we owe them anything, this may drag on for a while, but we are in a good position now as Redten have agreed to end the contract, we will pay upto the point they stated our contract ends and no further.
Good luck all, hope you can all get a result too, the mac is the first step of the journey.

    Benji,

I appreciate what you are doing and I also understand everyone elses frustration. Most people would have got their result and then gone away, I for one appreciate you pushing.

Unfortunately like firstclass says and many others, we wont accept the proposed Redten deal that's all. Its still a fundimental change to the contract which is unnacceptable to me and others here.

I dont think (and correct me if I am wrong) that we are having a go at you, we are all very frustrated at the lack of official response and you are in the firing line. Not justifying that, but that is what is happening.

So please keep up the pressure for us, I appreciate you continuing to support us.

This thread has only attracted a very small minority of customers who are not happy and I think an ulterior motive is behind the scenes here.

If that's the case why have you contributed to this thread or do you have an ulterior motive?
