4 days and nothing forthcoming from MSE
i held off going through the grief of recorded delivery letters in the hope that they would at least tell us whether that was definately neccessary. but no, Archna and Martin are quiet. guess i'll have to bite the bullet and send them tomorrow.

has anyone got a MAC from redten, even by agreeing to continue their clode payments, for the remainder of their contract, but just changing ISP's (ie paying twice)

You'll probably find that they are having trouble contacting Redten too. Clode has admitted that they've had trouble getting people to talk to them, so what hope does MSE have?

Ok, just had a really long conversation with Nick Davies, he is under the impression that there have been no breaches of contract. and that there are only a few of us still having issues with the 15GB limit. Could everyone please call Clode and moan at that about the issue as they don't think we are upset at all.

They are still hiding behind the rubbish that this is to stop illegal downloads.

like a lot of people i also got the now infamous not our problem email from clode, so ive just emailed my reply. Dont think ill get anywhere with it, just working on the theory that to say nothing implies that you are ok with things. Plus it made me feel better writing it.

I have recently received this email from yourselves, as have quite a few other redten customers. I would just like to make my position on this matter perfectly clear. This as far as i am concerned is most definitely not the end of the matter, i do not consider this matter in any way resolved. The 15GB limit is NOT the unlimited package i signed up to and i find it quite offensive that you think this is a reasonable limit. Who are you to say what is reasonable in this matter. It is NOT unlimited anything less than an unlimited service (which is what i am paying for) is unacceptable. In my opinion the matter of illegal downloads etc is nothing more than a smokescreen to try to justify this appalling customer treatment. You mention any further problems contact Redten, May i ask just how many times by various customers have you been informed that redten are uncontactable? Do you consider everybody who informs you of this to be lying? Under the terms of the consumer credit act you are (as you are well aware) jointly liable. All i require is for the terms of my original agreement to be honoured, until that happens nothing else will be acceptable. Please do not consider my complaint in anyway resolved

Please do not abuse the Trolls either we are coming down to their level if we do, everyone has a right to their own opinion, even Trolls. Like I said in my earlier post I take on board his opinion however misguided, and if by some remote chance he is a genuine customer of RT rather than a plant, then he has a right to put his views the same as the rest of us. I only hope that if he is a genuine customer he doesn't live regret his current views. If he is a plant then the only reason I can see for him being here is to cause dissent and perhaps get us to say or do something that may later harm our case. Please do not take this as a rebuke but I think we should keep our perspective and not get carried away by one persons view.

I also agree do not feed the Trolls

if your allowance has been changed from unlimited to 15Gb/month then that looks like a major change to me, though i'm sure they'll explain that you can still download whatever you want, just v e r y s l o w l y, the same excuse used by many isps offering an unlimited service, though this still (to me) constitutes a change an the T+C of the contract, and should be enough to warrant a free exit.
I'm not, never have been, a customer of redten, but i think the way you have all been treated is appalling, and i'm surprised there is so little media coverage, even amongst the techie boards.

THe PC is only free if you agree to 3 years of broadband service it does come with this stipulation

I agreed to 3 years broadband and paid for it in one go. I have been disconnected since 10th March.
I cannot get through to Redten, by phone or email.
NJP say that redten needs to pass a MAC code to them and I will be OK, but I cannot get redten to answer my calls.
I am happy that you are happy, all I want is to be happy to!!
