If your thinking of the Small Claims route here's some useful links.
If you reside in Scotland
http://www.scotcourts.gov.uk/sheriff/small_claims/index.asp
If you reside in England & Wales
http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/claims/index.htm
Both links contain very useful help in getting your claim registered, if you are unsure the court staff can also help either in person or via email (for those of you that have the facility;) ) in filing out the correct forms/sections etc
Best of Luck!!Mortgage - Free :j

Thanks Donstar - small claims route will be my next course of action (next week).0

My internet connection went down at 10:50 this morning. It seems funny that I had just been on "DEADTEN" web site that "ESSEX" has put together(marvellous).
Have rung NJP(ANSWERED PRETTY QUICKLY) they say its a "user disconnect" and not their problem.
Has anyone else experienced this today?
ADSL lit on modem ok but ready light not coming on. Have rebooted and put in saved settings for modem and tried to connect using ******.******.redten@surfmax and password supplied.
Using my brothers internet to put this in.
Am I paranoid or can RT do this?
Registered letters sent a few days ago. Finway address being returned as unable to deliver.
Keep your chins up we'll get out of this eventually.0 -
Great site that, would be nice to have been a wiki type thing, to contribute to the content....
But nonetheless, excellent work and will be invaluable.
I'll link to this on my sites if thats Ok, just to speed up seo.0 -
It may have taken 34 minutes of waiting with terrible music, but someone on the sales line actually answered! 0844 482 0000
I've managed to request my MAC code and give them new contact details.
I've been promised an email and a telephone call when they have it.
Does anyone know how long it takes to generate a MAC code?
I'm not holding my breath.....
Instantly or with redten. forever and a day!0 -
MArch Rabit,
I've had this a few times myself - try unplugging the modem -turing the power off - leave for a few minutes and the try to log on again.
I have found that one of my house phones was causing the line to drop - when I disconected this phone it worked fine - also maek sure you have micro filters on every phone too.
It could be that the adsl provided by NJP is a little bit more fragile than BT's and tends to drop off a bit easier.0 -

just to clear things up for you all
broadband has always been your limit or unlimited usage has always been calculated on up load and download transferres its never been different from anyone .
when you sign up with broadand providers that claim unlimeted make shure you check with them first off what in thier terms of fair usage policy is a limit if they have one they feel to be abusing the system ie: ill qoute one from bt wholesale about bt unlimited they stated to me that although it is classed as unlimited they have a hundered meg limit on that before they email to say they think you are using too much and ask for you to limit your usage so in real terms for them it means you relistically are being told that they think 100meg is considered enough bandwith usage in any one month and the difference in that is redten in various faq`s and comments they had stated it was totally unlimited within the fair usage policey which bassically stated times for heavy use to be monitored
so be carefull in when you sign up to any one and ask what they consider in the unlimited policy is fair in thier eyes and if they impose any limits to the unlimited bit of the contract.
and for you being cut off or disconnected for visiting websites redten are not allowed to monitor you and where you surf unless asked by an authority to do so ie police or copyright agencies or have been told by such people that certain sites are classed as illegal or immoral or the likes and have been banned or removed for investigation or any other reason to that effect.0
