Hi All
Looking through some old e-mails and I have dug this one out from 2006:
Broadband Service Details
Redten Internet Home upto 8Mb MC
Dynamic IP Address
IMPORTANT - Please Read Carefully
Our records indicate that you already have a broadband service with another provider. In order for us to to transfer you to Redten Internet you need to supply us with a MAC Code (Migration Access Code). You will need to contact your current provider and ask them for this code so that you can transfer your service to us. Once you have the MAC Code you will need to enter it online by visiting the website and going to the Order Tracking section. Note, we cannot process the order until this has been done.
You have chosen to use our Monthly Direct Debit Plan. However, before we can process your order, you must sign and return the agreement. You will have received an email containing a link allowing you to downloand and print the agreement. Please ensure that you return them to the address given on the paperwork promptly.
As you have chosen to have your broadband service activated before the delivery of your FREE PC the order for the broadband will be processed once the signed paperwork has been received back and the MAC Code supplied. Your broadband service should be active within 8-10 working days from this date.
This is from Redten (sales@redteninternet.com) so they are stating that the PC is indeed free
Hope this helps0 -
If they don't respond to our requests, they will stand no chance in a small-claims as we can easily produce evidence to contradict any of their many inconsistent claims.

Redten tell us a lot of things, none of which have turned out to be true thus far.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

i dont believe a word they tell me, even b4 i received my pc and got connected i was subjected to a barrage of excuses and untruths, i was even told one time the delay in processing my order was because of the postal strike0 -
>:j This was copied via the new T&C on NJP page that appeared Tuesday evening and following links (for old customers?). These seem to apply to all the existing customers even though they have been revised.Reading bits of conditions implies that connection is still via BT - no mention I could find of NJP. Strange!
Other parts I'm sure would constitute an unfair contract - They can now give 14 days notice (in writing) of changes which may be to our detriment and we may be able to give 10 days notice terminating contract to expire before the 14 days is up. - Never go on holiday again or even take a long weekend break!

you will then need to transfer to the new Broadband supplier.
We will not be liable for any costs incured by yourself during

Seems to contradict!
Even so if it now is for goods and services it means you can't have one without the other, therefore If either one is missing the supply is incomplete and we still don't have unlimited Broadband

Redten until the 3 year Contract has expired; at this point
Surely this must have been picked up before - they can't expect you to pay for something that isn't yours.

@kevin, see, thing is we havent purchased any PC or Hardware! ITS FREE!
I myself have posted RD letters to both Redten and Clode (left NJP out of it, as far as I am concerned I dont have a contract with them).
The sad, sad fact of this whole mess is that I know I wont get a reply - noone else has. But believe me, I will be starting court proceedings on 9th or 10th April.
If they want their PC back they can have it. Gladly. Ill just take out the extra RAM, Graphics card etc. I have added and they can collect it.0 -
Good point.
I'm going away for a few days, but will keep an eye on whats happening when I can.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

I'm up to 1.2 on my monthly 15gb cap in just over a day, no heavy stuff just your average surfing. I'll reach the cap before 2 weeks never mind a month. We must not accept the 15gb cap, when RT and Clueless sorry Clode eventually reply the next communication from me will be a county court summons!
I agree, I am very dubious about these figures, I find it going up increasingly quick when my PC is left idle sometimes. The fact that they combine the uploads and downloads sucks as well. very sneaky move.0 -

Even if your are required by court to hand it back or willing to hand it back --you are entitled to keep it as lien ( in lieu of ) until your debt is cleared by clode. Sale of Goods/CCA 1974.
