I know how that feels! It Sucks!Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

The letter facilitation process is the same process that is used when you want to switch your voice service. This process generally applies if you are looking to move both your broadband and voice services at the same time or in certain cases if you are moving only your broadband service. The process works as follows:
- you will first need to contact your gaining provider you would like to switch to and inform them that you would like to switch to them;
- you will then receive two ‘notification of transfer’ letters – one from your existing voice provider and one from your gaining provider, advising you of the details of the switch, and giving you an opportunity to cancel if you have changed your mind or have been mis-sold or slammed;
- you do not need to contact your existing broadband provider;
- your new service should commence ten days from the order being placed. You should find out from your gaining provider whether there is likely to be any downtime or loss of service during the transfer process.
Methinks there a a few companies due for the hammer from OFCOM who say they expect to prosecute a number of companies before the end of the year.0 -
still curious as to why we have static ip addresses when the site says its an advanced option that costs 2.99 a month. and it says all redten internet services come with dynamic ip as standard. i asked njp and apparently we all got them on redtens request on the 18th march, call me cynical but doesnt it seem like they used that to find out our usage??0

Maybe I'm getting paranoid now - but the earlier posts about registering your view that Redten is in breach of contract before April 11th look to be well founded. I went onto My Account - Change package and saw the following message -
Your account was setup or last time changed on 11/03/2008 15:10:00.
You cannot access this service untill 11/04/2008.Does this mean that you are deemed to have accepted their terms if you haven't complained by then? Also if my account was set up on March 11th why did it take another week before I could get back on-line.0 -
Thats the general opinion - You need to complain now!Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

That is the view expressed by various people here, many of whom have taken advice from other sources such as consumer direct etc.
You must ask yourself one question --are you willing to accept a reduced service provision which is less than you contracted for.?
If yes, then you do nothing and pay the extras outlined on the website after the 11.4.2008.....the bolt ons.
If no; then you must write immediately to :
redten, njp, and clode stating that as redten have broken your contract you are entitled to withdraw from that contract without any penalities.
you list the breaks of contract.- Failure to give notice of the contract change and its details and allowing you the opportunity to reject it.
- Failure to notify you of your consumer protection rights at the time of the change.
- Providing a lesser and degraded service.
- Instituting a cap and blockage on your broadband connection and access when your contract was for unlimited and uncapped service.
- failing to provide you with a service for a number of days in the month following their application of a cap on the service.
- Failing to provide any information on any of their proposed changes yet giving public statements to the press which outline a detrimental service.
- failing to provide reasonable duty and care in the provision of a service to you.
Nedmundo has posted two excellent letters which you could adapt to suit your own circumstance ...see his posts from yesterday/today.
Please note also his letter to clode and their joint responsibility in this.
