We've now been given the power to tell everyone! I for one shall take this further.
What if redten go bust! We've done them so much damage! They cant get any new customers. If they read this thread they wont anyway.
Future is not decided yet. Whay if they dont pay NJP. We'll all be in the same boat again.
I cant be doing with it.
they are bust--thats the problem BT and NJP both have said they cannot pay their bils.0 -
My account also showing download limit increased to 15GB monthly.
Still no emails since last Friday.
I still want out. Even if 15GB per month was adequate, who trusts them now? How long would this be for? - after what Mr Gulzar has spouted about the broadband being free. Some misunderstanding Mr Gulzar....thousands of us understand that it is the broadband we are paying for, with the free PC as an inducement to take the broadband contract for 36 months. YOU are the one that MISUNDERSTANDS......oh look, every marching soldier is out of step except for our little Johnny.
:rotfl:  thanks for that!!!!!0 -
15gb limit is nothing, most of us can reach that easily by downloading legitimate files such as various linux distros, open office, and other open source softwares which are often distributed via p2p file sharing methods to keep developers hosting costs down, which to all intents and purposes looks just like the traffic of illegal downloading, for an isp the two are indistinguishable yet they make the assumption that all p2p traffic must be illegal downloads! The onus on them is to prove that we are abusing the service with illegal content downloads before they impose any caps!
I have paid for an unlimited service and will settle for nothing less than unlimited, fair enough if they say restrict your downloads between x and y hours as they are peak, but when im downloading "ALL" the latest linux distro's to try I do it overnight anyway!:mad: Deadten Victim - Seeking Justice at Any Price :mad:0 -
As Clode are jointly liable with Redten we should be making the same demands which is that They (Clode) should take over supply of Broadband ie arrange with NJP or whoever a service which meets the advertised terms of unlimited broaband at reasonable speeds up to 8Meg.
If they then are unable to do this with or without redten then they should inform us the customer and allow us to obtain same spec service at reasonable cost for which they are responsible. We would have to bill them or deduct the cost from our payments.
I think we need to give them about 7 days notice to reply as which option they choose and 14 days to get the new service into operation or a definite start date if more than 2 weeks needed for transfers to go through.
I believe this approach should satisfy the consumer laws of being reasonable and still obtain the same level of service we received before March 11th
In my case the £12.99 will probably not cover the cost of alternative supply so I'll probably allow them to cancel contract and I'll keep PC.
I believe Clode are liable to pay us for the alternative arrangements of broadband supply provided we give them the opportunity to put things right first and they if they fail to deliver.0 -

Remember ironside, not 15GB download but 15Gb inclusive --that is downloads and uploads combined.
So every post here costs you0 -
sorry have 2 windows open at same time as receiving private messages --addition refers to your subsequent post on bein back to 15Gb thats for a medium user.
Any one who signs up for unlimited is usually a heavy user.0 -

We have been giving them the opportunity.
They handed over the full cost to redten at the beginning of the contract.
They have not responded to letters either --why is everyone so so reluctant to write things --is it in case it is held against them later?
Clode are jointly responsible for the provision of the contracted services. I complained to them on the 11th March.
If they intended mending the breach by redten, they would have done it but no it is drip drip depending on the amount we complain and seek our contracts worth.
Check out the OFCOM website and see where the support for our position is.
Clodes liability is clear, if redten don not deliver, we are entitled to the refund of the remainder of the money we have a debt to clode for. ie cancellation of the debt.

Thanks for clarifying that F.
When I've been comparing ISPs in a little guide I got, the column in the guide refers to DOWNLOAD LIMIT.
I didn't realise our account with NJP was quoting download AND Upload combined - is this common practice?
That's why my GBs don't seem to go so far with NJP0 -
Total newbie at this, but been tracking the postings for a couple of weeks now. People are saying that their counters have been reset, and that they now have a 15gb cap - how do you check this? is it on the NJP website?0
