lol if an internet company told you that and you on a adsl line thats only upgraded to take 8meg then theres no way in hell you will get 8meg its impossible to get the full 8meg as it has to take some of that for certain data and stuff on your line to make it all work lol thats before you get your line speed !!! so they good at selling internet to people when they dont even know what they are even selling obviously and by saying such things they are in fact maybe not intentionaly missleading you !!
We have the full 8mb in work which is provided by BT so it is possible for those speeds.0 -

I'd be happy with anything above 4MB to be honest!!!! Was getting 6.5MB during my first few days....seems so long ago!!!!!0 -

Just finished talking to consumer direct. Some information they gave me has proved useful at this time. They told me that Redten should be listed with either CISAS or OTELO internet and communication ombudsman. Guess what everyone..... They're not!!! :rolleyes: Then I spoke to OFCOM, very reasuring. They have now got someone looking into this for everyone and not on a personel basis. He mentioned I should contact the ombudsman as next port of call but when I told him they're not registerd his attitude changed why, because it is a UK legal requirment to be registerd. Quite a big law to break? I have been told to call back later in the week for more information.
Now for the important bit. If you have not done so yet contact Consumer direct and OFCOM and get a reference number for your complaints.
The more of us that do the better I hope.

Checked my NJP account at work and new message came with various options.
Says I've got no redten internet and various options as to paying NJP waiting for redten to provide another service or Mac code. This was an hour ago - has anyone else seen this?0 -
Additional info NJP said our counters will be reset this evening but no info if we are to be upgraded to a 15GB limit. Wait and see.Ron.

im still puzzled as to why were all have been given free fixed ip addresses that should cost £2 a month extra. and surely we should have been informed of this change along with all the others0
