and i meant as in on njp it states i got fixed ip same as it shows and thats after rebooting the router and dissabling my lan conection and restarting it!! so it definately a fixed ip so are we being charged for this service of maybe being tracked and monitored ?
they won't be tracking the IP address or monitoring what you are looking at the amount of effort and space they would need to capture it all makes it unworkable and the only people who can ask for a specific IP to be traced and checked are the authorities i.e the police.0 -
Hi again
I've just checked my usage and can anyone explain how I'm using bandwidth when my computer is off? Below is the log from 20:51hrs. and everthing was off (except the route but it's a secure connection).

It would appear that i have used 0.03 doing nothing!
And another thing, what speeds should we be expecting, i ran Speedtest yesterday afternoon and got 1548 d and 646 U is this good? Sorry I'm a bit thick with this sort of thing!0 -
I just wish I had a connection of some sort. Since being cut off I appear to be one of the unlucky (lucky) few who have not been transferred to NJP. Tried to contact RT, to know avail, even sent them my MAC code by email, courtesy of a kind lady at BT and still no connection.
Clode do not want to know - how many more out there are in my position?
Not tried sending MAC code but exactly the same as you! V12Operations@cloderetailfinance.com did respond saying they were passing my email on to cutomer services and to expect a reply soon. That was at 13.38 yesterday. No reply yet. However I had sent the the email to Customer services and Nicola Dobson with a read reciept. Only V12ops read the email and replied. The other two have not read my email/not sent the reciept!
I also emailed "Care" at Redten. No response!0 -
if you have your mac code then you should be able to move to any ISP you want.
I got my MAC code from the BT wholesale site on the 10th March. I used it to order BT broadbandon the 11th. On the 26th, the day BT were setting up Broadband they informed me that it had been refused. They said it was probably Redten who had blocked it. I called Ofcom who said yes contact Redten.
So Redten the ball is in your court!!!0 -
Don't forget to submit a complaint to the Advertising standards authority, they have a very simple online form to fill in at -
http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/how_to_complain/complaints_form/
Tonight I'm going to compose e-mails to all the big PC magazines to see if any of them are intersted in running an article or publishing a letter. If we can all try and do the same and mount a negative PR campaign we mat get soemwhere.0 -
We should also now be considering making a claim in the small claims court for breach of contract. Some simple plain English guidance at -
http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/claims/index.htm
I shall also be having a look at the forms, although not a solicitor I have some limited legal experience and if I can formulate a draft calim text I'll publish it here.
I'm a few MB under the 5gb cap so I may have reached it soon and it may take some time!!0 -

I read that as: usage since last start of router at 00:49 minus 3:57 is 0.028. Stays like that until 09:50. I may be wrong, but I think the 'total gb' column is 'cumulative usage since last restart of connection'.
I'm getting between 3800/370 and 5800/370 on speedguide.net's Speedtest using host-easy.co.uk as test server.
Hi cageyr - I'm not sure what your Bandwidth Usage is - I've now used 5.737Gb, ansd so am well and truly capped. I can't load the Speedguide.net Speed test - it's taking too long (!!) - but I just ran the Myspeed test, and my download speed is 10.8kbps, and upload is 13.8kbps.
If I'm understanding the units correctly, I'm downloading at about 380 times slower than you are! Somebody, please tell me I've got this wrong. But at the speed things are going I've no reason to doubt my figures - a slower connection than an old 14.4kbps modem. I might have been quite pleased with this 10 years ago0 -
