so in reality they are leaving us open to attack now by making it easier to be tracked by people that have no right to breach our privacy!!!0 -
I just wish I had a connection of some sort. Since being cut off I appear to be one of the unlucky (lucky) few who have not been transferred to NJP. Tried to contact RT, to know avail, even sent them my MAC code by email, courtesy of a kind lady at BT and still no connection.
Clode do not want to know - how many more out there are in my position?
I didn't get switched over either. I got a MAC from the BT Wholesale holding page. I called them using the number someone else posted here and confirmed it was still usable after the 17th of March. I promptly called Tiscali and set up a new account with them. Now I want to get out of my contract like everyone else as Redten have breached several areas of their contract as far as I'm concerned.0 -

Hi Bennevis,
Sounds like you were one of the 38 (like me) who's MAC codes were grabbed by BT before NJP got hold of them.
For me this was good because I signed up with Sky before the 17th, have no complaints about the Sky connection.
However I have sent two letters, one to RedTen the other to Clode telling them that I have cancelled my DD, I won't be paying anymore, I don't care if they want to take me to court....I'll see them there, as this is a clear breach of contract on their part & I have been told that from a Solicitors firm who specialise in Breach of Contract I'll win my case hands down & if it goes to court I'll also win loss of earnings as well. All I want is for RT & Clode to cancel my contract with no penalties & no comments on my credit file.
Also if they want the PC back, sure no problem but they can come and get it, the keyboard's a US one, the mouse is useless, the speakers never worked, the DVD drive never worked after Vista was installed and the screen has 100s of dead pixels...£500 PC....my eye...0 -

Just a thought. We all know that Redten, NJP and Clode couldn't care less about us - their customers - but I just wondered whether they actually understand what has happened to our broadband service?
In practice, it is now impossible to 'surf the net', because web pages take so long to load - and on occassions never load at all. Any streaming sites - BBC Iplayer etc, are out of the question.
But it just struck me this morning, that these clowns perhaps think we're just wingeing because we can no longer 'download large files', having hit the 5Gb cap.
Of course I could have got this completely wrong, but when Clode tell you 'we understand all Redten customers are now back on line', it perhaps makes you think.
I accept it doesn't really get us any further, but perhaps rather than us banging on about the 5Gb cap, and the need for them to honour the 'unlimited broadband' we all signed up to, we should perhaps try and bring it home to them that the impact of the cap is such that once you've hit it, 'normal' surfing is impossible. You might just as well forget about the internet untill the end of the month! And how realistic/acceptable is that?
Any thoughts?0 -

Hi All
Finally got registered on this forum (took three days to get the activiation email!), I too am one of the first Redten customers joining in Nov 06. I never received the Vista upgrade (lots of correspondence to Tariq), got the US keyboard same as everybody else really.
I sent my email of complaint to Clode on the 26th (after speaking to Edward at Clode) and resent it with a bit more weighted text to Nick Davies yesterday quoting CCA Sect 75 et.c, with a deadline for Clode to respond at 13:00hrs yesterday. Surprise, surprise not reply so i called them. I asked to speak with Nick who despite had read my email (had a read receipt at 11:12hrs) 'wasn't in today'. The lady I spoke to was Biata, very polite and apologetic that people where having problems with their connection. I explained (rather firmly) that this was no longer an issue of the technicalities of an internet connection but the serious breach of t & c's, contravention of section 75 of the CCA, in all Clode and Redten both in breach of contract.
She went on to say that they had received a lot of letters and emails of complaint and they were endeavouring to respond as soon as they can.
I am waitng for their reply.
By the way, what has happened to Benji? Seems as though he may have been silenced!0
