BEFORE 11.4.2008 write to redten and njp, tell them you do not want to accept their lesser service; exercising your right to withdraw from contract without penality. Request a mac telling them they have 5 days to produce one. keep payments going til you get your mac and have migrated.
At what address for redten as the one previous turned out to be a coffee shop!!

iv just gone over my limit, havent been capped yet. im hoping it will stay that way if my router doesnt disconnect.

did someone mention in a post that o2 is BE?
o2 mobile customers get a discount and its 8mb unlimited for £7.50 per month 12month contract
    £10 for 16meg and £15 for 20meg

so anyone think thats worth while?

and this is the fair usage policy
4 What about excessive network usage?
There is no limit on the monthly network usage. However if we feel that your activities are so
excessive that other customers are detrimentally affected, we may give you a written warning (by
email or otherwise). In extreme circumstances, if the levels of activity do not immediately decrease
after the warning, we may terminate or suspend your Services.

o2 just started broadband and using be's network for their service. Be won the awards recently for speed and consistancy.
Good price but check broadbandchoices for comparison of all top ten providers.

    PRESS RELEASE

For immediate release 3rd November 2006
LAUNCHED TODAY - Broadband service TO INCLUDE
A PC worth £500 for every customer.
A unique broadband deal for consumers and businesses was launched today. For
a monthly fee of only £19.99 every customer will receive a comprehensive PC
package worth £500 as part of the broadband offer.
This service is being provided by Redten Internet, which is under the umbrella of
Watford Electronics Group, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of IT products for the
home and business, in partnership with BT Wholesale, Intel, Microsoft, LG
    Electronics, Belkin and F-Secure.

Redten Internet is the only complete out-of-the-box
    plug & play PC and
broadband solution on the market. It believes there is no easier or more cost

efficient route to PC ownership and high performance internet connection.
The completeness and affordability of the Redten Internet offer probably
represents the most compelling incentive ever presented to families, schools and
businesses to gain access to the benefits of broadband. It is a truly
    comprehensive and completely unique approach.
Beyond its promise of providing a personal computer as part of its broadband
offer, Redten Internet will also be providing 365-day telephone technical support
throughout the length of the customer relationship, free software titles, free
operating system upgrade voucher, free upgrade of bandwidth and an automatic
upgrade of computer when the three-year contract is renewed.
Early adopters will receive their broadband connection and computer in time for
    Christmas.
The PC will arrive fully configured and ready to connect to the internet. It comes
with an LG flat-screen monitor, Microsoft Windows XP MCE 2005 operating
system, Intel Pentium 4 processor, DVD writer, multimedia functionality and
stereo speakers. Additionally, the PC will offer a 90-day F-Secure's Internet
Security solution to protect against the latest Internet threats. The package is
    backed by a 3-year warranty.
Customers will also have access to a specially-designed portal, through which
they’ll be able to access email, populate their webspace, read BBC news and sport
    stories, and search the internet.
For those who wish to have their PC and internet set up for them there is a
home-installation service whereby a technician will visit the customer’s house to
set everything up for a charge of £32 or for an additional £1 on the monthly
subscription fee over the three-year contract.
A range of upgrade packages aimed at beginners, families and businesses is also
available which includes printers, surge protectors, software and the homeinstallation
    service.
Signing up to a Redten Internet package can save considerable sums of money

    Hi Folks,

Have just spent the last 2 hours writing my letter to redten detailing my 2 week experience of customer service, the lack of notificaton and change to service now recieved (along with a print screen of the message that is still on their website stating unlimited monthly download). Have asked them to consider the letter a formal complaint and requested termination of contract without penalty unless stated restrictions are removed with previous level of service restored and reasonable explanation/compensation given. Have also printed a copy for Clode letting them know about it since they are jointly responsible and welcoming any comments they may they have regarding the issues attached in the letter. Have mentioned both The communication act 2003 clause 9.3 and the consumer credit act 1974

Have given redten 10 working days to reply and will post both letters recorded delivery on monday. Will let you know if I recieve anything back.

Was hoping watchdog or the likes would pick this up as I hate having to go down this lengthy process but considering the time this has now dragged on for + the fact that I am prob a day away from my 5gb web limit even without any big downloads + my email hasnt worked since monday with mail.redten.net or pop.redten.net + havent been able to get through to redten customer service all this week thought it was time to bite the bullet.
