I'm afraid that they can blame everyone in breaching their T&C if you go over 5gb limit. They always can say that you were downloading copyrighted music and movies and they've locked your account, then it would be very diffucult to prove them wrong. If anyone will get through them, please ask written confirmations for any of their actions.
yes it might be difficult to prove them wrong, but we signed up for unlimited broadband not a 5GB limit and secondly i have been suspended without 7days notice to remedy alleged breach. so they have breached t's&c's by suspending me without notice.0 -
I am curious as to when REDTEN would have informed me of suspension if i hadn't phoned to ask why connection was so slow. no communication from redten communications0

Id respond by saying (truthfully) I use 4OD, BBC Iplayer and the ITV one too, along with Sky Movies on demand.
That is why I want an unlimited service and my 5gb will not last long at all. If they accused me of downloading illegal software then I would be non too impressed.
Some of the games i play work on a peer to peer system however, so if they are talking about blocking P2P completely they can stuff that too.
I have sent an official complaint to Redten, NJP, Ofcom and Clode. If I dont get a response then the recorded delivery stickers will come out and I will bill them for the costs incurred to me to communicate with them. Benji's on hold shenanigans are an absolute disgrace.0 -

No, but I want an explanation as to why they refuse to provide what we pay for. The manager has personally guarenteed that we will receive an unlimited service, but then he guarenteed that he had transferred my account to NJP who have confirmed to me that he hasn't.
I couldn't agree more with you about taking this further. If people are serious about this then get together on hukd where you can discuss it and get some proper legal advice.
I know some people are having trouble getting registered because of your internet connections. I would hope that next month you'll be back to normal speed and can get registered. Maybe worth holding back on the bandwidth if possible in order to allow you to communicate most effectively for the whole month.0 -

is that because some/most redten customers are not bothered/affected by the 5gig cap.
worse yet, have only the heaviest downloaders been hit with this cap. i must confess i have spanked my connection to hell and back and hadn't even read the fair use policy until this trouble began. but that's what it's there for. ok if i've not played by fair use, warn me and impose a speed limit during the hours of 6pm-11pm, don't turn having the internet into a near pointless excercise.
if anyone gets talk to njp/redten see if you can find out if all customers are in the same boat. i just can't make contact due to their ridiculous opening hours0 -

they already stopped to act within the regulations, I see no other options but to file a claim against them in the court. It looks like no other organisation can help us at lease get answers on our questions.0 -
