How did rebellion clock up 9GB on a 5GB cap.
Are we sure the 5GB cap is universal. My members area at NJP says 5GB allowance but that dosen't say everyone else's does. How many rt's customers are using this forum. Maybe just the ones with probsicon5.gif

Thats a good point but IMO i think that it will be a universal cap, as I'm sure that everyone will have been migrated to NJP and from watching this thread I haven't seen anyone that has gone over the 5gb limit and not been restricted... but you did make me paranoid for a moment...

he meant he has used 9gb on 3 to keep his rt connection going under 5gb!
  • the 9GB is what REDTEN are saying i have used in 5 days, exactly how i have managed that considering i have been on dialup speeds since friday i have no clue. NJP member area says i have downloaded 5.3GB. so i have printed a copy of that to fax to REDTEN in the morning. but that is really besides the point when they are using clause 8.1 as an excuse to stop me getting unlimited usage at broadband speeds. its just another part in the web of excuses i have had since last august.

    Hi
This would appear to be the original deals when redten kicked up.
Notice the date at the bottom of the page (2006).

yes it is, I took a copy of it originally when I signed up in 6.11.2006 and have printed date on it.

  • no problem redflake, REDTEN are good at making excuses, they even blamed one incident on the postal strike, i think they make it up as they go along. when BT stopped providing the service i was told that firstly i would be reconnected in 24 hours, then by the end of the next evening due to it being a dispute over customer service betweeen REDTEN & BT, and then told it would be the 18th march and that the downtime had been planned. all i want is the truth from REDTEN for once. i have lost all faith in REDTEN and they have in my opinion provided a poor quality service and breached t's&c's

    Check out this page.
    http://www.redteninternet.com/broadband.html

    UP TO 8Mb BROADBAND
Our broadband service is second to none. Utilising BT wholesale's award-winning £12billion infrastructure, it’s not only capable of delivering download speeds of up to 8Mb, but starting from April 2007, will also support up to 24Mb downloads. As part of Redten Internet’s commitment to offering the best level of service available, our members will automatically be upgraded for free. Unlike other broadband providers, Redten Internet won’t limit your monthly downloads, and is available to a whopping 99.5% of the UK population. To ensure you have the best connection possible, we're also giving you the latest ADSL2+ modem - absolutely free. white_curve_bottom.gif

thats why they left BT --majority of their customers in the south and wil be eligible for the upgrade to 24m/s. redten couldn't or wouldn't pay BT rates for this service. As they are only paying NJP less than £7-9 currently, that has to be the reason more than any other.

So I guess what they wil do is cut the PC from the deal--saverstaore selling off the same components now for £300: and sell of the ISP business which will be virtual, to themselves or 2 others.

Sure I saw somewhere on redten site that they are now saying the pc is worth £300.

  • Can anyone help.

I have picture and/or or pdf that shows a comparison of the redten deal with other ISP providers from 2006/2007.

It clearly shows the comparison between broadband prices, free PC as against others £500; unlimited as against others caps. Compares redten to AOL. BT. Pipex and Tiscali.

I dont know how to publish it in post, so if someone can tell me, I will post it.

    regards all
    F.
