I'll take the fact that my posts are being deleted as notification that MSE don't want to answer why my posts are being deleted. If you don't want to answer then just say you don't want to answer. If you leave this post here then I'll leave it at that. If you delete it again then I'll re-post.

If it's unreasonable to ask why my posts are being deleted then just say so and we can be done with this.

Or do you have something to hide???
  • Nice one rebellion, worth a post over at hukd in case it gets deleted from here.

Don't think that any of their clauses could cover them from the fact that they sold unlimited internet with the only restriction being that you would share a line with other heavy users between 6 and 11.

So what happened to the original article entitled 'Free Pentium PC' which Martin posted when Redten 1st came to light? Any chance of someone at MSE digging it out of the archives?

Agreed. I think all this bickering with mse and moderators is detracting from the real issue.

  • have been watching these posts for a couple of days as my broadband connection has been less than dialup speeds all weekend. have spent the best part of 4 hours on hold this afternoon to be told by those lovely people at REDTEN that my account has been suspended due to me excessively using bandwidth. anyway to cut a very long story short i was informed that i had been suspended under clause 8.1 for breaching clause 7.1.3 by using p2p software. allegedly i have used 9Gb of download in 5days. REDTEN are blaming NJPservices, who i also spoke to this afternoon. NJPservices say they have not done so and any suspension/capping is down to REDTEN. REDTEN have point blank refused to tell me how i can cancel agreement, saying i need to talk to V12/Clode and have refused to supply a MAC code.

    terms and conditions
    8.1 We may suspend any of the Services to you until further notice without compensation if we have reasonable cause to suspect fraudulent use of a payment card, or in the event that we suspect that you ar ein breach of clause 7; or clause 9 and have not remedied the breach within 7 days of being given notice that you are in breach;

am i right in saying since they have suspended services without giving me notice they are in breach of these terms and conditions?

futhermore i signed up for unlimited broadband with no caps and under the impreession according to the fair usage policy that if my usage was extremely heavy it would only be managed during peak hours.

this is just the latest installment in the neverending list of problems i have had with REDTEN.

The nerve of these redten people. They have put a 5gb per month limit on all accounts regardless of whether someone's even used the internet that month! And they've done so to save themselves money and to "force" most customers to migrate (saving themselves the cost of paying NPJ for their broadband!).

The cap is universal to all accounts and not selective. It it therefore NOTHING to do with any "fair use policy" which itself has been amended.

As for cancelling the agreements (as anyone who has endured talking to clode will know) they will only cancel the agreement upon request from redten - which will mean redten would have to repay clode.

So of course redten blame everyone (npj, clode, you) rather than themselves.

They cap to save money and to shed customers which cost them money (they got all our money from clode up front when we signed the agreements; we are now just costing them money).

Whever they quote fair use or terms and conditions or p2p simply say you have capped EVERYONES account to 5gb/p/m are you saying EVERY redten user is in violation of your terms and conditions and/or fair use policy?

I'm telling everyone here now redten can and will get away with this as most customers (who can afford to) are migrating and will cease to care. Is there noone here who is a lawyer?

yeah, now these rats will start to use any possible way to limit us to death. Will not be surprised if they demand to return pc and pay fine for generating too much traffic.

I'm getting funny as my posts keep on getting deleted and they won't say why. Like they're picking on my for some reason. If they don't want to say why can't they just say no comment or something, rather than delete the posts and sweep it under the carpet.

That's another point, we've got to get alot of those details again and add them somewhere they're not so likely to get deleted.

    See you guys on HUKD.

watching this ping pong game and starting to loose hope that we can do something just by calling them, they obviously don't bother...
  • Has anyone got a copy of redten's terms and conditions as of november 2006? If so please email them to thank you

Wouldn't put an e-mail address in the forum, they get picked up by bots and then loads of spam gets sent there.
