  • Personally I am going to do the following:

    1. get mac code via ofcom (see my earlier post on how to make ofcom contact rt to order they give you your mac code)

    2. change supplier

    3. donnate to a sustained PR campaign to track the directors involved with RT, publise what they have done and to warn other consumers.
  • 4. I am going to sue clode and rt using which's lawyers (£12 for 6 months unlimited advice) http://www.whichlegalservice.co.uk/

    just spoke to ofcom, they said that nothing they can do to help to obtain bloody mac code. they trying to resolve the situation in general but nothing can be done to force redten to release mac code.

    it is just funny, when we do something wrong they have whole range of facilites to pressure us and force us to pay them money but when we trying to get a proper service that we paid for no one can help us with that!

    Looks like their trying to get rid of heavy users or trying to extort more money out of them. But why not give out mac codes when requested if their trying to get rid of us?

    1. The first time I called ofcom today I got fobbed off too. The problem is ofcoms own advisors dont know ofcoms own policies.

    2. The 2nd time I rang today tho I pointed out ofcom's own regulations clearly stipulate where an ISP fails to provide a customer with their MAC code within 5 working days* you should complain to Ofcom and they will step in and force the isp provider to provide a MAC code. The operator agreed and emailed redten with my details officially requesting immediate discolsure of my mac code to me.

    * See A1.5 http://www.ofcom.org.uk/advice/codes/bb_migration/

    Because they didn't count on the sheer volume of emails/phone calls/voicemails and because I don't think they realised the anger/legal threats and publicity it would cause.

    a light bit of humor once again from me from redtens site :) for why we should choose them !!!!

    Reason 3 - We’re open about our business model. Our intention is to earn your respect and trust so that you choose to stay with us and to buy other IT and home electronics from us… but because you will never be obliged to do so, we know we have to keep on delivering the right service at competitive prices. If we do things right we win and you win, if we don’t you still win. Basically, you’ve got nothing to lose!

    at below this it says

    Still think there has to be a catch? Then call us or e-mail us. Whatever your question we’ll be more than happy to answer it clearly and directly. We’re proud of our straight-talking, no-nonsense approach.

    now im laughing first real laugh from all this ive had :)

    hope you all find it just as amusing as me !!!

    The thing that bugs me the most is the total lack of communication from redten. Why have they not put an official notice up on their site about the 5Gb caps and any other accounts available. After all the NJP members area as "upgrade package" and "bolt ons" but thers just no information what so ever.
