if they had impossed 5k limit that means that these guys in serious money trouble, few pounds more and they could go bust! So ones who keep their PCs on lets set up huge files downloads so keep connections always on and their bills grow and at the same time demand to lift the cap.

also, does anyone know where are they based? may be someone will be able to get them in person.
  • If they go bankrupt I believe the clode contract is void as the contract clearly stipulates broadband and pc under goods and services provided.

As for their base - see earlier posts. Their main base seems to be in luton and their virtual office in docklands.

    1. They want us to sue - they can dragg it out for years and months; and via attrition. That said I applaud anyone taking legal action.

years? why? I don't see any reason again why it should take that long, case is quite clear. Im happy to take it to court but I don't have much experience and cooperating with few more customers would benefit the outcome.

I applaud your efforts. I also disagree their in any kind of financial trouble. The people behind RT made millions before watford elec (orig owners of RT) went under. Also every single customer who signed a clode finance detail = £700+ paid to RT by clode when they signed. 2000 customers? £1.4m.. and there are more than 2000 RT customers.

This is a simple attempt to shed customers and costs.

dont misunderstand me - I applaud your efforts and willinginess to sue. I hope others join you. However I know a bit about the law and I know these things can take months if not years. I also know both Clode and RT have used VERY expensive lawyers when drawing up some of these agreements. The same lawyers they will use against you.

I think you will the court case. I hope you proceed. My point is a PR case [a] will get faster results as the media will hound the RT directors and Clode and Ofcom and publically shame, disgrace and publicise redten's actions. I.e. disuading others from joining redten.

I am not trying to stop you mounting legal action - on the contary I really hope you and others do it. My point is a PR campaign AS WELL will hurt redten, clode et al far more and far more quickly - before the majority of RT customers give up.

what was the case with BT then? I believe that we generated so much traffic so company were unable to afford it so they found another provider who could offer facility to set up limits. I doubt that redten owns and manages all that equipment that can control the traffic. redten seems to me now is a virtual company with few people on phone 'go away' line.

attempts to ask them politely to lift the cap could go for years, we need to action and better be quick. Couple notices from small courts I believe would wake them up more than our annoying calls.

again I agree with legal action and hope you take it. I also feel a PR campaign will yield faster results as it targets the directors behind redten (come of whom are very wealthy).

As for BT - I simply dont know. I hope redten are in trouble and they go bust. My gut is they found a way to get out of the BT bill (if the bill related to the period RT/WE were in administraton).

In summary go for legal action by all means!! I hope you win!!! But I think a PR campaign (in addition too, not instead of legal action) will yeild faster results.
